Woo Hoo Awesome! All I did was pull the yarn strings at the top across from each other, turned it inside out - weaved in the yarn and pulled both strands up through the Pom Pom. Hope this makes sense. Thank you for watching.

You aren't counting stitches correctly or you aren't chaining 1 after each row. Use stitch markers

I really appreciate this pattern. However, I can't figure out how your instructions in the video relate to the chart you reference. You say to chain for 11 inches to start, and you say you are making a teen to adult size. From the chart, the teen hat height is 8 to 8.5 inches. The adult woman hat height is 8.75 to 9 inches. So, if I add 2 inches for the brim, that comes out about right, I guess. However, you work the piece in the video to 18.5 inches. I can't see how you got that from the chart. It looks like it should be somewhere between 20 and 22 inches according to the chart?

Hi there!! Sorry for the confusion. In this pattern you aren't working around the head but from the ear to the top of the Head. I did 11 inches to fold up for a brim. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching & Happy Holidays!

i have to be honest - when I continued to place that last stitch where the stitch marker is, I noticed the my stitch count decreased with each row (even though you said the count doesn't matter - it kind of does) then the rectangular piece began losing it's shape and no longer a straight edge. I ripped it twice and same thing happened. Has that happendd to anyone else?

Mark your first and last Stitch. You're going into the wrong Stitches either at the end and beginning. It's a common mistake for beginners.
