Geez Matt, thanks! I use the Pearl Icon curved rack system. It was modified in many spots. As far as cymbal booms, they are CH-1000. I use a S-1000 snare stand, both the standard and low version. I have a H-1000 hi-hat stand with the legs removed. My auxiliary hats are on CLH-1000s. Finally, my kick drum pedals are P-2000 eliminators with the blue cam. Hey, Matt.. I love your drumkit by the way.. I am curious about your hihat stand.. You had the legs removed from the stand.. How did you do it and was it sturdy enough to be clamped to your left bass drum? Thanks.. Let me know..

I took the stand apart, at the bottom, and slid the legs off, then reassembled the hihat stand. I used to connect the hihat stand to my left bass drum, but now I connect the hihat stand to my rack. I did it with that Masterworks kit, and I do it that way with my current Tama kit.

Hi Nicholas. I use Ultimate Ears Reference IEMs. I would recommend them, but you can definitely get adequate IEMs for less. I picked mine because they have the widest frequency range within my budget. For about half the price, you can get a pair of Alien Ears that are very nice. I haven't tried them myself, but I've heard good things about them.

Thanks zoom... I use Audacity... it's a great program. Audacity opens the mogg files, so when you get songs in track form, you can remove the drums AND also modify the other tracks on the song. I tweaked this drumless version of YYZ a lot before I actually recorded with it.

Hey Matt, what are the single headed drums to the left? Concert Toms that Pearl matched the finish on? Was wondering as I am considering a Masterworks kit but want to be able to order a 6" tom. Looks like maybe one of those on yours is 6". Thanks, kit looks great!

Hi Mike. Yes, they are Masterworks toms. You can order concert toms through the Masterworks program. The 6" models are charged at the 8" closed tom pricing on the MW price list (pretty steep), but it's worth it to me.

That drum set looks amazing. I love the finish and the placement of each drum. Kudos on the setup and above all kudos on the cover. Between Rush and Dream Theater those are two of the hardest popular bands to do... with the exception of Tool. Which Im sure you could cover easily. Youve made a subscriber out of me.

Thanks Charlie! I'm not really into soloing. I don't even care for watching drum solos myself (other than Neil Peart and possibly Thomas Lang). I'm much more interested in how the drums/drummer interacts with the other instruments/musicians. There is a short video on my channel if you just want to hear the drums. I will message it to you.

Great job, spot on, you're using Audacity for editing? Great free software, I use as well, but mainly for MP3 encoding with LAME. Regardless, sounds great, check out Reaper by Cockos. Best $59.95 I have spent on recording/editing/mixing software, the trial version is free for as long as you use it and fully functional, just a nag at startup. I used for free for a while and then purchased, bunch of great plugins with it.

They are not Reference shells. All of the shells have an outer ply of figured bubinga, middle plies of maple, and inner plies of African mahogany.
