My favorite part of this video is Bowman going out on the ice to celebrate with his players. Even though he already had like 7 rings, his passion and love for the game was as strong as ever. The Wings were so lucky to pick him up.

It’s not just that he turned it over, if you continue to watch he lazily skated back toward Yzerman. Could have easily had him at the blue line but he dogged it. In OT in game 7 no less.

@@craigkerr2764 Looking back, I don't know who it was but the defenseman almost turned it over to Gretzky in the Wings own end. That could have been disastrous, too. The excitement of that OT goal was all I remembered. That, and celebrating very quietly because my stick-in-the-mud roommate was already in bed because he had to work in the morning. 😂

BINGOOOO!!!! This game was insane, game 7 of the series with a super intense nail-biting back and forth scoreless battle where both Osgood and Casey were acting as brick walls, then out of nowhere Yzerman just goes with a blue line cannon blast that no one saw coming. This Red Wings team was truly beloved here in Detroit for this whole mid 90's into 2000's era when we won 3 Stanley Cups. Joe Louis must have come close to collapsing.
@lousanto10542 жыл бұрын
I remember watching this as a 23 year old. It was truly insane seeing a team so heavily favored to win this series mired in a game of inches for the right to move on or the heartbreak of going home. Even though the season would end 6 games later, this truly was a sight to behold, arguably one of the top 5 goals in Red Wings history.

I still get goosebumps watching this. I watched this with my Mother and our friend named Brian when this happen in 1996. I was 11. I use to live in Michigan so naturally I was a Wings fan, but also a huge Penguins fan. We were watching the whole game. I remember playing NHLPA 93 on Sega Genesis and Brian was telling me which players were still with there teams as of that game. (which would be nobody now since everyone is retired in that game except for Jagr) My mom died in 2001, and Brian died a few years later, I miss them very much and Ill never forget us screaming ontop of our lungs like kids (I was one though) And Steve Yzerman has been my favorite hockey player since 1995. My favorite numbers to wear are 19 and 64 (Tributes to Yzerman and my mom as it was her year of birth) So yeah, I just wanted to share that story. Where were you when you saw this happen?

When he went to sit down, he sorta flopped down with a lot of momentum and it broke the chair in half. We started laughing so hard at him, he got so pissed off and chased us
