when TV programming tries to create a controversy. The guy got nailed and could barely stand. Ref saved his life
@1wor1d4 жыл бұрын
Why does the commentator keep saying it's a controversy. No it wasn't, the ref stopped the fight because the fighter fell down twice. The only controversy was Zab's behaviour, but in his defense he had just been knocked out for the first time in his life!!
@samuelbeaumont5043 жыл бұрын
Exactly right
@1158scott3 жыл бұрын
Not exactly because he fell down. He's supposed to be ready to fight upon standing, regardless if he got up at count of 1 or 9+. He gets no more recovery time or to use the seconds he should have used staying down. Fight will restart as fast as ref can see boxer is competent to continue, as he should be upon standing. Wobbling across ring, glazed eyes focused on nothing, strange gesturing, & falling on your face is not prepared to continue - fight over. People instinctively want to change the rules & give Judah time to recover because he got up so fast, a 1 punch knockdown, & it's early in the fight.
@1158scott3 жыл бұрын
Unhappy Tim Smith: "Very, very controversial ending" "What about winning in this manner" "Is it satisfying for you to win like this" Tszyu knocks a guy on his ass & when he gets up & is supposed to be ready to go, wobbles across ring, glazed eyes, & falls on his face. Oh yes, I'm sure Tszyu is sad & guilt ridden.

In the mold of Muhammad Ali, Zeb showed himself here to be just another Street Punk with an Overblown Ego and a Big Mouth. His behavior after the fight was downright mentally ill and shows how Sick Zeb was even before he started Boxing. However, naive and gullible fight fans are SUCKERS for Big Mouth Narcissists like Zeb, Roy Jones Jr, and Hector Camacho. Boxers like these are mentally ill people who just happen to have some Boxing Skills. Judah was supposed to be the next big thing in boxing. Showtime was absurdly billing him as a Pernell Whitaker with power. Despite his enormous talents, he had never been in the ring with a fighter of Tszyu’s caliber. This was one of the biggest, most anticipated fights of the early 21st century - a boxing fan's dream. Tszyu was the puncher on the wrong side of 30, and Zab was the young next best thing. Early in the first round, Tszyu was adjusting to Judah’s speed, but by the end of the first and throughout the second round, he was already timing Judah pulling back and closing the distance. It was a fabulous stoppage by Jay Nady. Judah would not have survived the third round, as his durability was always a hindrance in his career. Tszyu was composed and never lost control - a masterclass performance from a great fighter approaching the twilight of his career. As for Zab, he never felt the same after this loss or fully regained the allure that followed him as an undefeated fighter.
@peaceseeker99272 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Only a dunce would think Zab was at the level of a Pernell Whitaker. Zab fought like an amateur here, retreating backwards so much, and with his hands down, allowing Tszyu to dial him in for the kill. and he showed child like judgment hopping back up after being so badly stunned. The ref had no sane choice but to stop it immediately because Zab was unable to take the count after helplessly falling right on his face.

The sensational adjustment Tsyzu made between the first and second round, is the highpoint of his career. Remember, Tyson hit Berbick who went down (3) times from the same blow - the fight was instantly stopped. Had Zab been allowed out for another round, he would have been really injured. Zab had a glaring weakness - right hands from strange angles. Carlos Baldomir with a fraction of Tsyzu's power almost Kayoed Zab, too with a two rights from crazy angles and Kosta's ability to suddenly throw pinpoint straight rights from any angle - likewise, Zab just couldn't take it. An over inflated sense of his own greatness, a low IQ, a tendency for violence, a denial of his own failure and an assumption that he was cheated. We see this a lot in the U.S

@@watchingthecrazyworld7761 Don't get me wrong. I loved your post. Very cheeky. BTW I never knew the rule that if a boxer falls down twice from one knockdown then it's over baby. But Zab Judah did get his legs back and did want to fight on. He was too into ga ga land to stay down for the count. I also didn't know how many champions Kosta Tzu had defeated. Just a great fighter and good man.

@@peterjongsma2779 if he stayed down for an 8 count Zab might of been able to continue. He foolishly got up instantly.

@@Rick_Riff Mike Tyson should have coached him on that. Mike was in Zab Judah's entourage.

When a fighter loses control of his legs like this and falls right on his face while the ref is attempting to give him the count, the ref should immediately stop the fight, and only a fool would think otherwise. Zab fought amateurishly here with predictable movements keeping his hands low and retreating too much. Tsyzu apparently stunned him with the first right hand that landed right before he hit him with the KO punch. He never had the ring IQ of a Pernell Whitaker, so the comparison is a bit insulting.

When I watched this live back in the day through my young eyes, I thought Jab convincingly won the first round. And he did, but what I didn't see is Tzyu was stalking him the whole entire time, yeah he ate a shot or two, but he had his range set at times in the first. Tzyu was tagging him good in the 2nd round, the entire 2nd round and I dont see how a young Zab could have beat this man, because mentally Zab wouldn't have figured him out. Thats actually been Zabs Achilles heel, just mentally he goes off to Narnia. Always has heart but yeah great short fight

He tried to throw jabs but the long range of Tszyus opposing lead hand stopped him from trying to land it. He found openings in the defense of Judah with over the top feints and he forced Judah into vulnerable positions. Judah tried to slip most punches and stay off the ropes but he couldn't throw back cos of the opposing lead hand.

Even if you think it was premature, what do you think happens in Round 3? Kostya would have come out more aggressive and finish it then
@joedarrow54222 жыл бұрын
No. The stoppage may have been correct, but Judah was well enough to fight round 3 just fine. But these refs gotta make split second ass decisions to protect fighters, so yeah, good stop. He just didn't know Judah had ALOT more in the tank.

Agree. Judah would have been knocked out, or taken even more punishment, and then knocked out a couple rounds later. He was in bad, bad shape.
