You should be very proud of yourself in making such a brave decision. No God would dislike you for developing your empathy and caring about the feelings of others. He would rather applaud you.

He looks so cute and sweet ... and somewhat vulnerable. I love you, Zach! : )

Zack is now the fifth child to leave the church. Him along with his other sisters, Lauren, Megan, Libby and Grace have all left the church and their family permanently.

+Alexander James-Palmer Lauren Drain isn't related to them. Her family are the only ones who are members of the church who aren't family.

Everyone who has left the Westboro Baptist Church, from Lauren Drain to Zack Phelps, have been shunned. This means that Drain's and Phelp's families have totally cut off communication from them.Thats the same crazy acts we see in cults like the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Amish, and certain independent Pentecostal churches.

The pain he is describing sounds like severve tension and maybe some anxiety/depression.

kevin chagnot I'd like to believe God led him out of harms way as well. I'd also like to believe that God lives in the hearts of decent men and women. I don't go to church nor do I live my life according to the Bible, however, I'm glad to hear that there are some people who express compassion, empathy, and understanding of the suffering of your fellow man. I don't get to say this often, but, be well and God Bless

People can change. HOWEVER, it does not erase the pain and sadness his evil ways pla ed on others. True example of a perpetrator and a victim. One one hand he was victimized by his family as he was thrown into this without full awareness and consent. On the other hand, I struggle that it took him 18 years to "wake up". We reap what we sew

I mean they were enclosed in an echo chamber and made to participate into all the disgusting activities WBC did even before he began understanding things, so its definitely hard to “wake up” when it has become his “way of life”. Of course, “converting” doesn’t erase their wrongdoing but if we keep on judging them, what’s the difference between us and the WBC? Especially when we’re mere spectators and aren’t the individuals they harmed. The matter of forgiving and being forgiven is between them and the people they personally hurt.

I absolutely think it can take 18 years to wake up. I'm just glad it didn't take him 48 years to wake up. Someone of them never wake up. Branwashing and cults are hard.

It’s his mouth!! The nose just moves along with it. You can do it too, just look in the mirror when you try to do it. I guess it’s just more prominent in this case because of the size of his nose and it’s not really a common “mannerism” so we’re able to take more notice of it.
