It's a lot worse than this. In the NIV version, God punished every human to ever live by making us prone to illness and injury that everyone suffers from to their own extent. Since he's omniscient, he planned for Adam and Eve to disobey him so he'd have an " excuse " to punish everyone who had nothing to do with it. That would mean that he planned for my family to suffer crippling mental illnesses. And my mom and aunt to have cystic fibrosis. My aunt is a Christian, and she worships and beg for mercy from the one who is currently punishing her severely for what Adam and Eve did. It's pretty morbid. I hope Christianity is false, for everyone's sake.
