This video is soothing and therapeutic. I needed to watch this to hold on to some hope for the story after going through the events of Rebirth. Cloud’s character is extremely frustrating because he’s doubtful, non-communicative, and messed up from the experiments. Zack on the other hand is ideal, optimistic and a symbol of hope. He’s someone to aspire to become, and it’s even clearer why Cloud is overshadowed by his symbolism. Thoroughly enjoyed the masterful character analysis of Zack. He deserves a beautiful ending for being such an inspiring character.

Really intelligent analysis, agree with everything you said, and you really understand Zack as a character. Maybe I slightly disgree that Zack is perfect - he has plenty of flaws, but he DOES have unwavering morals which is what's important for your point. I also think Zack's primary role in the story was to bring Aerith, Cloud, and the White Materia in the room together so Aerith could do the switch with the transparent one, but I will admit I never connected Sephiroth's feeding on despair with Zack dispelling despair in people. That was brilliant of you to notice.

I love this analysis! What I would like to see happen for the final chapter is this: It would be nice if Zack could be a Cloud stand-in while Cloud is out of commission and Tifa is staying with Cloud. Zack actually convinces Tifa to keep hope alive that Cloud will be ok. So Zack does his best to keep spirits up with the team while they figure out how to get to Sephiroth until Cloud is better. Then Zack remains with the party as the 9th character, aids in the fight with Sephiroth, and dies by Sephiroth's sword. Cloud, in a rage, defeats Sephiroth but still needs to beat the Sephiroth consciousness. A rift formed during the battle, Cloud ignores it and rushes to his fallen friend where Zack tells him that Cloud is his living legacy, having restored hope in Cloud and wishes for him to continue to give hope to the world. "Now go finish him," Zack would say with his final breath, pushing Cloud off him. Cloud turns to the rift and finishes the consciousness, renewed with the goal of being the world's hope.

This was such a good video with lots of insight on Zack and his role in the story. I'm really excited to see how FF7 part 3 will use Zack's character, and how he will continue to effect the narrative and characters when they meet him again. If Zack and Cloud reunite, and Zack and Aerith reunite, that's even more hope for FF7 world, it is something both Cloud and Aerith have wanted for the entire series

Well, we literally watched him ascend to Heavens at the End of Crisis core. No wonder he became Angel 😁 Love Zack with all my heart ❤ This is very good analyses. I also think they might make him the key to Aeriths Holy in this game. That is also one thing that is changed against the original for unknown reason, so it makes me feel they may tigh it to Zack.

Honestly, I'm kind of wondering if they did do Zack chapters but due to the length of Rebirth, they had to cut it or rather save it for a DLC??? I could at least a few chapters. The first chapter Zack helping the people of Sector 5 while doing things for Marlene and Elmyra. The second chapter he and Biggs go on a mini adventure and Biggs becomes a guest party member. The next chapters could be his adventure into shinra, and the other half his attempt to save Biggs. Then a final chapter that goes beyond the Rebirth, giving us another hint of what to expect in part 3... perhaps Zack getting very close to reuniting with Aerith. I will say, that Zack is actually my favorite character now. I actually wrote my own trailer for a Zack DLC which is different than what I suggest here. There is a version of No Promises to Keep by a user on here named Octavio who sings the song and sounds like Zack. So I wrote a script of a trailer for a Zack DLC with his version of the song in the background in his comment section.

Very nice video and great analysis on ZACK!!! This is why I have always liked him better than Cloud right now cause Zack has always acted like a TRUE HERO with a strong will unlike Cloud who is just a emotional closed off wreck from what happened to him and being controlled from within. Still Aerith having feelings for Cloud is only because he is acting like Zack and not himself right now. Besides who knows? In part 3 the timelines might merge together and Zack will finally actually join up with the group and coma Aerith too if she wakes up. Ya know ever since Crisis Core I sometimes feel that FF7 was always meant to be Zack's story not Cloud's.

Part 3 for me will hinge on Zack's role. If they keep him on the sidelines and backtrack the plot to OG and just have him teleport in for the final battle again then it'll be pretty disappointing. If Zack is fully playable and is more involved with the party then the finale could be a home run. I'm at least still hopeful that there'll be some changes because the lifestream sequence was already moved to Gongaga and Sephiroth has already told Tifa your words can't reach Cloud. Plus Cloud already remembers Zack so the picture reveal is no longer a major plot twist.
