I think this result definitely pushes Pit into high tier, even if on the lower end. I usually put characters with large amounts of unrecognized potential in upper mid, since they don’t have the results to support that potential, unless it’s Pikachu, since everyone knows why that character is stupidly powerful. Now that Pit actually has the result needed to show what he can do at the top level, I don’t think there’s anything really holding him back from crossing that high tier threshold. And they crazy thing is that Zackray’s Pit isn’t even optimized, imagine what could be if it was

I do. As a Dark Pit main, his main issue is his disjoints suck. Upperdash/Electroshock Arm is near useless unless you go for a read. Guardian Orbitars can work against you because of the fact they shrink. Pit/Dark Pit arent bad characters but they lack a lot compared to the broken cast we have

Hwan Niggles A disjoint is a disjoint. Pit's is weak at times, losing to some moves it shouldn't but it still gets the job done. It doesn't "suck". He doesn't need electroshock, it doesn't matter if it's bad. Just don't use it. It's the same thing as Byleth down b. His down b is just good. Pit has almost everything in his kit that most of the best high tiers and even top tiers have: solid frame data, disjoints, dragdown setups, a great projectile, a great grab game with a combo throw that works for ages and kill throw, multiple jumps and a recovery that goes far and can be heavily mixed up. Its just that they all kinda suck in comparison lol

I can see Joker using rebels guard and landing for free against Pit. The juggles and oppressive offstage arrows would be deadly against most characters, but don’t have much strength against high and top tiers with great disadvantage. Which is why it is baffling how Asimo won against this Pit with Ryu. On paper, this MU is buns.

Honestly, it probably could be good. The only reason why I say probably is because his hurtbox sticks out from the bottom when in the air, causing him to be more vulnerable to attacks. it's definitely great for blocking recoveries, but only if you know how to use it

Fun fact: Pit actually used to suck! Until the 8.0.0. update saved him, he had almost NOTHING going for him except for a solid NAir and arrows, since his damage output and kill power before v8.0.0. onwards was absolute trash. The devs tend to buff characters by making their damage and kill power better, and Pit was a rare example of a character that actually needed those type of buffs. He got exactly that, and now he's a decent character but nothing SUPER crazy. Probably true mid tier ATM.
