I knew Sora was high or top tier from day one. A lot of people are so lame that they immediately write off characters just because of petty reasons. Sora was new and people immediately said he was trash just because he didn't get any instant results, same happened to Byleth, Corrin, Shulk, Marth, and even STEVE of all characters. It's about time the community learns that the unpopular characters take longer to develop because *they are unpopular;* less effort is being put into them on average. Unpopular does not = bad character, and some characters take more effort to be used at top level. I cannot believe how many people said Corrin, Byleth, and Sora were all bad just because "nobody plays them." Of course when Leo and Kameme came along, people doubled-down and started calling the characters mid or low tiers that were "carried," lol.

The only thing truly holding it back from being the best in the game is air speed, (his ground speeds is actually pretty decent) better frame data, and some of his moves sometimes can be inconsistent and a thundara had a better hit box he'd probably be unmatched. And if his combos flowed better (their still pretty good though)

Well, It depends. Its an okay reason, mainly because you can just learn the hitboxes from certain people who do play him, or from seeing certain examples. Noops are accessible if you get the tip of nair or as we like to call it (Noopbox)

I think people are still wrong about Sora. I think he is VERY fun and very solidly B-tier. No worse, no better. He does a lot of different things pretty well. But his biggest strengths are overshadowed by other characters' strengths. I believe that once people start seeing Sora more and practicing against him more, you'll start to see Sora losses more often. Sora being included in Smash Ultimate sold the game for me. Literally. I bought a Switch, Smash, a GCC, and Sora two weeks after he came out and have done nothing but try to improve with him. He's my favorite character, by a significant margin. But I do NOT believe he is top tier. I don't think this conversation would still be happening a year later if he was high-tier in a way decisive enough to prove it.

@@ShadowHeartless0 I’ve also been maining him since release, LMAO 😂. His nair and fair are amazing combo tools (although you have to master the spacing of nair and timing of nair 2). His up air is top 5 in the game. Easily one of the best recoveries (although some characters with counters can check you if you aren’t careful with sonic blade). Up tilt and down tilt are great combo extenders (although they are influenced by DI unlike Nair/Fair). F-tilt is an amazing 2 frame if you time it right. His smash attacks are really strong and Sora has tons of kill confirms that lead into them (Nair 12 idj nair 12 up smash is really strong since you can get the sweet spot). Once you start incorporating IDJ combo routes, soft resets with nair 1 2, short hop firaga as an approach tool, ladder combos, etc he gets a lot out of his kit. Yes he’s difficult to optimize and it can be tricky to get out of disadvantage against characters who juggle you or have better disjoints, but when Sora gets in he has all the tools he needs to get effective damage. A mid tier doesn’t have these tools nor do they have this kind of skill ceiling. He’s not an easy character by any means. I used to main Joker and Pichu prior to Sora’s release and I pretty much had to relearn some aspects of the game to get used to his floatiness and double jump.
