I think it’s fantastic how you can see what’s moves are effective and what ones aren’t. Another thing is everyone leveling up, regardless if you used them or not. I’m a big Pokémon fire red and Green fan but I hate the always having to swap between Pokémon go level em up one by one

Making TMs requiring pokemon material drops is basically your incentive to battle as many pokemon as possible to get the materials you would need to make TMs that can help you out down the line. Like how the Paldea region has their Pokemon Center and Pokemart all in one place this time and again the TMs this time you make and not just get from random trainers. TMs this time are like in the old games where they are one time use which further incentivizes on gathering materials from pokemon and out in the wilderness to make more of the TMs you wish to get. BTW Zack, I recommend raising that Fletchling you caught for now although you might get better flying pokemon down the road but I think it could be a good second teammate of six.

The stats from the vendors seem to be overall stats increase as you advance. For example, if you had something with catch power, maybe the catch rate will be more forgiving on harder pokemon. Same as catching pokemon to fill the pokedex rewards you with a bigger chance to critical catch.

Make sure you go in order to the gyms. The first gym to go to is in cortondo

that's one way to do it but it's an open world game, we're not limited to following routes in order anymore or just sticking to 1 quest. Also, earning the later gym badges gets higher level pokemon to listen and easier to catch. Me personally, I did a bit of gym and team star battles but mainly focused on titans to better explore and get TMs.
