Thanks! I had a litter of 9 golden retriever puppies. I'm down to 3 .life is much easier . Its been so hard to get individual attention 😪 to 9 babies! They did get 99/ potty training. And all learned to sit .but staying in a dog pile for treats .

As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home kzbin.infoUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.

And. No yelling or hitting/striking the dog! Not that other’s teach us to be physical either, but he isn’t using the “force” or Cesar Milan’s Thai Chi energy. I’m a combo of both, personally. I know Repetition teaches. It works for humans and dogs are like.

The "crating the puppy when YOU are frustrated". That. I get that. I'm teaching my three months old pup on my own, since I live alone. And I tend to "put him to bed" whenever he gets tired and overstimulated and therefore starts biting like a snapping turtle. I love him, but I can't train him when I'm frustrated because my ankles and fingers are bleeding... thankfully he tends to fall asleep immediately whenever that happens ^^" but it's no good and your words made me realise that I'll need to be better for him. I'll do my best. :)

Glad I read this. My dog has had the same problem since we’ve rescued and brought him in. There’s a point in our fetch game or our outside time when he stops everything else and decides I’m the chew toy - so frustrating! Ive been bruised and scratched and it’s hard to keep your cool when they get riled up. So I’ve been doing a similar thing of either trying to leave or putting him in the crate and waiting until he chills out. Good luck w your pup!

Can you make a vid solely on attention based barking? My dog is quite smart and doesnt bark when we leave the house since she knows that barking wont solve anything for her, however when we walk a couple feet away from her, she starts to bark like crazy, and since we live in an apartment, we have to kepe her quiet from neighbors quite frequently. I know you’ve done past videos for seperation anxiety, but I feel like a video specifically focused on barking for attention would be really beneficial for me and many other dog owners. Thank you sm!

Another tip about board and trains are to make sure people aren't using aversion methods! There is only 1 board and train in my area who uses positive reinforcement. The others all use e-collars and chain collars. Make sure you check the website of the board and train and ask lots of questions because it's not always obvious what methods they use.

I’ve taught him everything he knows so far and haven’t had help - which makes me so proud, to see his progress 🥰❤️He’s only 3 months old 🥰 though he still play bites and pees/poops indoors, regardless how many times we take him out and regardless of how long we’re out 😅 but with most other things, he picked up really quickly!❤️😍

good idea! I feel like people don't acknowledge it enough. It was such a culture shock when I got my puppy and I definitely had the puppy blues. I just want to say THANK YOU so much for all of your videos, and not being one of those trainers who charge hundreds or thousands just for wanting to be educated. You've helped me so much with training my rescued pup who was never exactly trained when I got him at 4 months old. He is actually a wolfdog, that is lower/mid content grey wolf with husky/gsd/malamute, very similar to the dog in your reality series (chop). He was resource guarding a real cow bone with the meat still on it, actually got my shirt and tore straight through it.... THAT was when I found your channel! The "luring" technique worked like magic, and now at 6 months old can take real cow bones away without any problem!!! Which was a huge game changer and became a huge advocate for your training videos among the WD community with positive reinforcement methods preventing aggression with the more primal behaviors. With nail clipping specifically, the first couple of times went great. Now, at 6 months not sure if its hormones kicking in or what but now I cant seem to clip his nails. I can pick up the paw fine without him seeing the clippers, I can touch the clippers to his paw no problem, BUT its the combo of holding the paw and having the clippers in the other hand that sets him off into either biting my hand pretty hard or running. I've never clipped him too short, and have tried giving a treat and such with even getting to clip one nail or holding the paw with the clippers alone. I also tried using a distraction toy, which helped the most at first, then with how smart he is was like nope I know what youre up to. So for an older young, (6 months) not yet neutered (next month will be), primal northern breed with very sharp teeth like it looked like in this video, is it just taking a step back and going slower and give it more time or do I need to change my strategy? The last thing I want is for either of us to get hurt, and he is the sweetest, smartest, and kind hearted dog I've ever seen. He is so smart that I would classify him within the single event learner category. But would love your opinion and advice!!! Also, btw if legal in your state, you should have an embark certified WD within your reality series! Bringing training into the genetics of where all breeds originated and once learned to trust man and man trust wolf. It would be incredible, with so many put down if going to a shelter strictly because of their breed. It would do a lot of the abandoned justice by teaching people training methods with WD rather than putting them down or dumping on the side of the road. Thanks for all you do, you really are helping real people in real life situations and not simply showing a ""finished product"" that then you feel guilty for being unable to replicate (since life has no video cuts and editing). So again, thank you and thank you for your interactions with us in the comments!!! @Zak George's Dog Training Revolution

Wow! This gave me some really good tips for training my new puppy we got this week! I loved the part about training them to be comfortable in the crate, to teach them to voluntarily go in instead of placing them in. Right now, my puppy has a bed taking up the whole crate so it is tough for her to climb in by herself. I think i need to get a pad that is more flat so she can go in easier!

Our baby was REALLY scared of the kennel at first. EXTREMELY reluctant. It took us about 2 weeks of saying "go to bed get a treat" and some coercion ("treat walking" her into the kennel) now, at nearly a year old, even if she's excited, if I say "go to bed get a treat" she HAULS it to the kennel 😂 with our without the treat. I PROMISE it can be done! (She is a big head no thoughts -pittie- so she is also extremely EXTREMELY excitable 😅) Some loving patience and a little time helps!

Love your videos!! Ending the play session with a stern expression, tone, and body language whenever my puppy bit/chewed helped a lot. Also playing the "leave it" game with treats/socks taught her more self control.

I like seeing the hand signals in use, which I think is really helpful for puppies and their human family.

Hi! I love your videos and energy. I'm hoping you can help... My pibble is 7mo and we have a problem with jumping and pulling 😕 He gets really excited with people and wants to be petted. This is my fault since I had no idea what I should be teaching him aside from sit, come, eat, yeah... Oh, he gives me his paw 🐾😁 I have been working on release for his toys which is 50/50 now but I'd really like if he'd just be better behaved around others; no jumping or pulling. Thank you!

Your videos are very helpful! So thank you! Don't know if you will see this, but a question I have is how to consistently train (outside of time set aside for one on one) with other dogs in the household. For example, the other dogs expect a treat when the puppy is being rewarded. Or when you're working on training in your every day environment, they join in expecting the reward. Do you just give them a treat as well so they aren't upset by the new pup being rewarded? Suggestions are appreciated!

Hi Zak! Question on the crate you use with Kona. I think it’s in your guide and I’ve read it from many dog training resources that the crate should be just large enough for the dog to stand, turn around, and lay in. Is there a specific reason you don’t use the divider in Kona’s crate to make it smaller? Thanks!

Using your techniques, last night my 11 week Goldendoodle was literally 1 foot away from my adult cat (that it wants to chase) and was able to sit, lay down, have a treat dropped 6 inches between him and the cat and then look at me!!!! We have never owned a puppy-you make me feel like a pro. Can you please do a video on socializing a puppy with cats?

Hey Zak im a big fan of your videos and have followed Inertia (and Kona I guess) from the beginning but I was wondering if you are going to do another series on another dog for a few weeks if you could try a more stubborn breed like a husky p.s: I know that Border collies ( Inertia ) can be stubborn but are still very eager to please

The reason im watching ur vids right now is because my 3 year old small dog has separation anxiety and barks constantly when he sees us leave the house till we come back and he is an outside dog and not potty trained and we have been trying to find a place to move and most of the places here either dont allow pets or the dogs must be well behaved when in the house and we are going to have to get rid of him if he dont behave and i dont want that for my baby
