Many people hate Malmsteen for shredding, but Malmsteen is way more melodic and has good riffs too. And Malmsteen started his way at the dawn of shredding. My favourite one is Ulrich Roth, his solo from "Still So Many Lives Away" is freaking good imo and there was sweap picking in this song (1979)

I hardly ever write comments but what pisses me off is how people will put guitarists down when something is Deeply7 beautiful because there trying to compare themselves to the best technically when if anyone has ever noticed its not how fast you can shred and whats so hard to play that its almost impossible... in fact the most famous music in the world is sometimes the most simple and has the most emotion and soul that comes through it that's what separates the average from the greats.... soul. hes an amazing guitar play.
