Amazon delivery driver here to answer (almost) all your questions!! 1. Yes the job is chill, you don’t have to deal with people, can listen to music, eat the clock stop wherever. But it can be overwhelming. I sometimes have over 200 stops in one day. 2. Some warehouses have gas trucks come and fill the gas over night, some get gas at stations. I’ve worked at 3 warehouses, one had the gas truck come and the other 2 we got gas at a specific Wawa. (That’s why they’re all at the same one) 3. I honestly have no idea how it’s so fast. Us drivers just show up, load our van, deliver the packages come back and leave. It’s a mystery to us as well, that’s a warehouse workers answer for sure. 😂👍🏼

Amazon driver and dispatcher here! 1. The job is overwhelming and it can suck sometimes (I’m actually working rn). However, I don’t really have to talk to anyone, I listen to music/podcasts all day. I’m outside enjoying the whether. But when I’ve got 180+ stops and 350+ packages it’s exhausting. We’re probably more miserable than you think we are. 2. No, it’s not all right turns 3. We have specific gas stations we have to use. We can’t just go to any one 4. We do not work directly for Amazon. We work for delivery service providers (DSPs). It’s contracted out so it’s cheaper for Amazon. So each DSP works a little bit differently. 4. Most importantly…we CANNOT speed, we HAVE to make complete stops at stop signs and right on reds. Do not get frustrated with us, we’re doing our best Feel free to ask me any more questions

Mariah!! I’m a graphic designer and I use to get that pain in my hand and arm often. I switched to an ergonomical mouse. Where your hand sits kinda in a handshake position on the mouse. Also KT tape on my hand helped a lot. Mine stemmed from 11+ years as a server and 5+ years as a designer. I hope this helps

Mariah! I have the exact same issue with my middle finger, wrist, and arm. I went to a chiro, and they had me do a ton of exercises for my arm. They also told me to ice my arm and wrist for up to five times a day. But you are right, it's all connected. I hope you find relief!

I work at Walmart E-commerce fullfilment center. Same thing as Amazon just now has HUGE. We have racks with bulky items(big items like dog food,water, microwave, vacuums etc.) and racks with shelving on them(so think about shelf with 6 shelving spaces on it where you can place bins with smaller items in them like cosmetic,vitamins,clothes basicslly anything small) all racks and shelves are Numbers and have a barcode. We get handheld devices and managers make our pick list. The system already had a understanding of where everything is in the warehouse and what’s the best path to pick items. Our pick list can be up to 120 items and we have carts that we put our items that we have picked in. Our hand held devices tell us the location of the item and how many to pick so for an example it would say (Location FX100.A) and we go and find the location and scan the item. The shelves and racks are labeled so we know where to go but once you do it so much you already know where the location is

I use to be a picker for an amazon warehouse. It’s a lot simpler than it seems. We got shipments from trucks which were stowed away into boxes on three different floors. The pickers had scanners that would tell you exactly where to go, sometimes the item wouldn’t be where it was stated. If that happened you just marked it as missing and moved on. The warehouse is so drafty and dusty. I only worked there for 8-9 months before it was shut down. Definitely wouldn’t recommend unless you prefer to be alone for your whole 10 hr shift walking back and forth in an endless package maze.

To Mariah - I have the same thing, it is not a carpel tunnel, it is a tendinitis as Heath said, your tendons in your hand are overworked. I searched on tiktok for some stretching excercises and it really helped! Hope you feel better soon!

Oh NO Mariah!!😭 I feel SO bad for one of my previous comments complaining about uploads being later in the day😖 I believe the wrist should be positioned higher than the hand. I’ve seen a foam bar that is taller than the keys at the base of the keyboard (or a keyboard with this built in) for the wrists to rest on, and hand to fall lower onto keys. And getting really crazy would be the like joystick mouse but also believe this is precautionary for issues like this too.

Used to work at one of the biggest courier companies, the average gross profit is $1 - $1.15 per parcel depending on consumer spending periods (Christmas, holidays, trends etc) That takes into account wages, overheads, lost parcels, trucks, fuel, everything! All that work for a $1 per parcel and all those parcels = companies making millions a year, crazy!

As someone who works at a storage facility, you'd be surprised at how many people get a unit just to dump their trash! Also, auctions after covid(atleast for us) are now all online. We break the lock, take pics of everything(we can't touch anything or enter the unit) and then post for people to bet on. that might be tennis elbow, my mom who works with typing and mouse has it! its not from just playing tennis its the motion over and over again for hours everyday. she uses PT and massage therapy even acupuncture but the most effective was stretching and breaks

Mariah, It sounds like same exact issue I have. My wrist hurts but it goes up my arm. It was inflammation/ tendinitis in the tendon that runs from wrist up forearm. Nothing much could be done other than stretching, resting it, anti- inflammatory. If it’s same, that’s what doc told me for mine. Shots help. But overall, mine now just comes and goes bc I still do the same job that causes it.

For Mariah: i work at a physical therapy clinic and for patients with carpal tunnel syndrome we have them do stretches and exercises to strengthen up the wrist and the surrounding muscles! I would look up some things to help relieve those symptoms 😌
