I danced in the 50th Super Bowl show and never got paid. We were there for weeks, auditioned, drove there every day and skipped DAYS of school for rehearsals. I heard that there is a lawsuit coming out for the halftime show dancers, but they never do pay the dancers. It was an amazing experience but I feel FOOLED for not being paid.
@hails977512 жыл бұрын
I hope you get some money compensated if the lawsuit gets settled
@beam70982 жыл бұрын
Do you know if some dancers get paid? I feel like the performer, say Beyoncé, brings a smaller amount of her own dancers that would get paid, but then the extra dancers that maybe aren’t on stage but are on the field as usually there are 100’s of dancers that are kind of like “extras” wouldn’t get paid
@Botrgrl992 жыл бұрын
@@beam7098 I’m sure Beyoncé’s dancers that she brings on tour with her got paid, but there’s different types of “extras” on the field. They always bring in a group of “fans” who just come on the field and are the crowd just watching the performance as fans. Then there are the other dancers who have full blown costumes, routines, props, head mics, etc. Beyoncé’s dancers showed up the day before the super bowl for our last rehearsal bc they were just doing the routine they do on her tour. The “fans” were also only brought in during last minute rehearsals so they knew when to come out and stand there. But as for the dancers, in my case, we were also dancing on the stage as well as the field and had three or four different routines. We didn’t have as many people as all those other extras that I would see being volunteers. I live in LA and for fun I go on a lot of tv show recordings as an audience member, and that is always a free volunteer type thing, which makes sense. But as far as the dancers that performed in my case, we were asked a lot of us and had weeks of rehearsals that were minimally 5 hours long. That kind of time and trust for us to put on that show at an event like that is definitely a paid professional dancer job. It’s sad how little dancers are paid generally. As a whole we just don’t get enough credit as an industry who definitely brings an entire performance alive.

My advice to mariah is walking with an audio book. Literally every night my mind is quite literally going a million miles an hour. I have to do a lot of reading for class so I typically do most of if while walking. For probably the first 20 mins of my walk I'm getting maybe 50% of the content because my mind is still racing thinking about a million things. But eventually as I zone out, the worda of the book just seep in and you get into flow state where your brain just stops thinking about those things and you focus entirely on the book. By the time I finish walking that same flow state carries me to bed which allows me to sleep almost immediately. If you do it in the morning it may carry you over throughout your day.

aeronautical engineering student here: Idk that much about American airlines or airports but sometimes certain airlines (especially cheaper ones) have harder landings because they're usually flying into smaller airports (not the main ones) so the runways are shorter = less time to land and brake, it's nothing to be concerned about though. Hey unfiltered gang! Please research and talk about Aphantasia next pod. It is the phenomenon in which people are unable to visualize imagery, and it sounds just like what Mariah and Zane were referring to when they said they have no imaginations and have difficulty visualizing scenes in their brains. I have learned about Aphantasia recently and I think I have it. I always got so frustrated as a kid doing visual meditations at school because I just see darkness in my brain, no vivid pictures like everyone else. I think this would be interesting to talk about! Please keep us posted about your doctor/specialist visits. I am a teacher and I studied Psychology, so I’m super into this topic! I love you guys and I’ve never missed an epi :)

I legit cried when I found out what it is. I always thought people were being figurative when they talked about visualizing things. My dad loves that type of shit so he made us all go and I remember feeling like I was going to die, so nauseous, dizzy and grasping for air. My mom felt the same and my big brother vomited. Of course my dad was calling us drama queens and whatever until the very next year, not even 6 months after we went, news came out of a little boy who died on Mission to Mars.
