The way they portrayed Unohana in this episode was so damn satisfying for me being a Manga reader, the level of shadows and wrongness to her face in how savage she truly is on the inside was absolutely amazing. This was one of the big "please get it right!" moments for me and they've not stumbled on any yet. For Manga readers, I want a panning shot around that stretching scene so we can see the glory in all its majesty.

Interesting facts about Unohana's Zanpakuto: 1. As far as we know it's the only Zanpakuto who's Shikai and Bankai share the same name, although... 2. Minazuki is the traditional name for the month of June in Japanese, yet also translates to "All Things End", so it is possible that her Shikai is named after the month and her Bankai holds the other meaning 3. Minazuki is the only Zanpakuto in the series who's Shikai name we know but who's release command we do not, aside from Zangetsu, which we never see transition from a sealed state to its Shikai

I'm BACK! === This episode reveals that Kenpachi #2-10 were never true holders of the title and only had it because they were the captains of Squad 11 (especially the Ninth Kenpachi who definitely only got the title because Kenpachi #8, Sōya Azashiro, was tossed into Muken without being killed by his successor as is tradition). Even Zaraki only truly earned the title in this episode despite having initially obtained it when he killed Kenpachi #10 Gosuke Kiganjō. In her heart, Unohana never truly relinquished the title when she moved from Squad 11 to Squad 4. All these facts really drag down Squad 11 for calling all of their captains and acting as if they were the strongest Shinigami despite #2-#10 never having truly earned the title. Just so you know, their flesh melting off during the fight was just a visual metaphor for Zaraki becoming like Unohana as an uninhibited Reaper and True Kenpachi and showing himself as an embodiment of death. Many fans mistake it as Minazuki's blood being acidic in nature. Unohana's sword becoming encased in blood and being passed to Zaraki was also a visual metaphor for passing on her title. === Asauchi (浅打, Shallow Hit) were actually first mentioned in the Soul Society arc by Old Man Zangetsu.
