I completely agree with you about Liam as the most underrated. I think what makes him so interesting and unique is how versatile he is in all aspects of his personality. It is a shame that more of the fandom didn’t appreciate what he brought to the group. I find that reactors who know little about the band tend to be surprised by Liam. I believe Zayn did appreciate and know how much Liam contributed to the band and Liam I’m sure felt the same way about Zayn. They definitely had a great dynamic.

Liam is my favourite. Partly cause all of the reasons you just mentioned. He's insanely talented, multi talented even, articulate, smart, warm, kind and like Zayn described. "brave". And his voice is quite spectacular imo His range is so broad

@@ANNIE23703 I so agree with you! I love all the guys, but it seems that Liam was left behind. It probably has to do with his being cast as the one to take the questions and ‘be mature.’ Meanwhile, the rest won our hearts with their antics and lively personalities. I don’t feel that the boys did that to him - it just happened. It was also unfair that people in and out of the band, Liam himself included, consistently praised Zayn’s voice and never quite remarked on Liam’s. That’s a shame. Yes, Zayn has a beautiful voice - there’s no question there - but Liam, he’ll sing in any register with zero effort. The man has a phenomenal range and has really done himself a disservice by going in the musical direction he has chosen. He’s a sincere and lovely man and I wish him all the love and happiness that life has to offer.

People barely noticed how close they are, with the same taste in music, movies, hobbies, Zayn said that Liam is so close to him because he is just like him, so special to watch them. I do believe that they're still so close and always will be. Actually it was always Louis, Liam and Zayn against the whole world. Thank you!

Your comments on Zayn was spot on. He himself said that he is ok with doing music interview. Most of one direction interviews if you watch where he is quite you can see it's all childish questions being asked.... Irrelevant questions.... Also if you watch all the one D interviews throughout the years you can see the change in Zayn.... initially he was very active and fun.....i think the management played a big role in his mental health....and by 2014-2015 he was totally done ....

I think zayn is a great listener as he doesn't get involved vocally in a scenario but likes to sit back and listen to everything ,but when he speaks he gives really good answers if you notice.

I like this reaction, never seen this interview. Zayn does feel more comfortable talking about artistic and serious stuff (he was probably bored of the usual questions) and he does it with harry too (i think most of his duo interviews were with hm), he gets more time and need less shouting... he is a good active listener and doesn't seek the attention, that's why he is overshadowed when all 5. Also i can relate to the fact that he needs to personalize the interaction and engage the people around him.

This was 2012 i believe. It was post 2013 that he started to really withdraw into himself. The stress of their work, the fact tht his music wasnt being put out and the anxiety of it all must have gotten to him. I remember when he started losing weight and i was so worried. So when he actually left the group, I felt beyond sad and but relieved at the sametime for him. I knew it was coming long before it did.

Thank you for the analysis. I too have noticed that whether interviews or the songs themselves, Liam was the strong foundation. It's sad that the foundation tends to go unseen. I personally love the way each member interacts with the other so you should react to duo interactions within One Direction as well as the trio of Louis Liam and Niall.

They're such kids here)) Yes, Liam is a great conversationalist, I love listening to him when he's serious. To me him and Harry are similar in this way but Liam gets distracted by Louis easier and loses his serious demeanor very quickly)) Please, react to Harry and Niall from that same NZ interviewing day - "One Direction's Harry Styles and Niall Horan in NZ". It's a good interview and you'll be able to see how comfortable Harry and Niall are, they're like synced-in imo. It is obvious in later interviews as well because they were mostly interviewed together. I love those interviews so much :)

Zayn gives me Yoongi/Rm vibes- when they talk about their music they’re very intentional with what they say, you know they’re being serious when they’re talking. As a old 1D fan and a fan of BTS since 2017, I think the authenticity both groups have is what makes the fans so passionate and engaged. When I was a fan of 1D, the media always portrayed the fans as crazy teenage girls, I’m glad now that our fandoms are challenging these stigmas. You can like music no matter your age, race, gender, etc. Great video Max!

I agree with whoever said it's probably more about the period when the interview was done than the person it was done with how engaged Zayn is. He was a lot more engaged and even dominant at times in their earlier interviews but by late 2013 and beyond seemed to become more and more withdrawn and uncomfortable. Unsurprisingly he was the first to leave.
