W- move
E- rotate
R- scale
G- repeat last command
q - exit tool
b- soft selection
shift + . - grow selection
alt + b - change background color
f - fit to selection
ctrl + a - open attribute editor/channel box
ctrl + delete - deletes an edge loop( 2014 version and up only)
1 - standard mode
2- subdivision mode with cage
3- subdivision mode
4- wireframe
5 - shaded mode
6- texture mode

Can you please make a video on your export process to Maya after your dessimate. I don't know how to UV unwrap the low poly and bring it into Substance on the high poly mesh.

What's the grey material you switch to around 3:32? I can't seem to find it in my ZBrush -- I like the shaders that use some sort of ambient occlusion to create the cavity detail ::))

How do you choose the colors? Is it by sheer experimentation or some reference? I always have trouble choosing which colors to use..

a lot of it is experimentation, but having references makes it a lot easier as well.

UV unwrapping looks like the most soul-numbing experience. Can't you just paint textures right onto the mesh/object without doing that heinous shit?

For games, no. For film there is something called ptex but that in itselft is also an extra process. Just got to do it a lot to get used to it.

@@3dextrude So, when I see people using the texture painting features in blender, or substance painter, etc. What is going on there? Is that completely unrelated to the UV wrapping/unwrapping? What is the purpose of the UV work

In order to paint colors on your model you need to make Uvs first. Uvs are needed for programs to know what colors go where on your model
