No no. not "Pixologic" MAXON. Maxon is the one driving them to do this stupid shit. like, you know. $660 for an "Update"

@BrianLockett

@@armandsfreibergs4069 The entire point of an efficient workflow is to _reduce_ the number of tools and steps you'll need to get the job done. It'd be nice if one could get it all done in ZBrush easier. Topology is one of those aspects of 3D creation that nobody would miss if we made it as simple as a 1-click operation--or as close to it as we can get. Heck, I'm hoping for AI-assisted retopology, someday. Anyways, I don't think anyone begrudges this feature. I just think that, for such a big move by Maxon, a bit more was expected for a 2023 release.

I'm still sore about Maxon owning ZBrush, but I do find this feature as neat (though, not essential). However, while I hate to sound like "that guy"...there's a $5 Procedural Slime addon for Blender which does the same thing that's been around for about a year now. Though, however again, it's nice to have features available all in one's software of choice. I'm not against this feature. I just expected more for a whole upgrade.

First of all, I have been following you for years and I have realized that I had never thanked you after you had solved many problems and doubts for me. Thank you very much for your videos, you are a very good reference. I have been using ZBrush for many years and I never stop learning and improving, and your videos are a great help for this. And I'm sorry if my English is not correct.

More like someone at "Pixo-Maxon" took a peek at Blender side of life, saw an addon that offers this feature at a passing glance, and copied notes like Mr. Bean. Seems to be what all software groups do now: When in developmental doubt, see what the other guy's doing.

I thought it was no longer perpetual. I had bought it prior to Maxon obtaining it so my free updates are over since December. But can’t really afford to switch to their subscription to continue getting the updates.
@BrianLockett
@BrianLockett Жыл бұрын
@@DrDremur It appears that, at least for the time being, Maxon is keeping the perpetual licenses available as an option for ZBrush. It's at the bottom of the page, though, tucked away underneath the subscription options. 🤭 It's probably a good thing people complained so loudly. At least for another version of ZBrush with 2023, you can still buy a permanent license. Probably waiting for the soreness among the community to die down some before pulling the plug on the perpetual license options.

@BrianLockett
@BrianLockett Жыл бұрын
I don't think anyone's directing any animosity towards Michael or trying to give him any stress. (Even as we know him as an ambassador for ZBrush.) It's just that his channel is very popular among ZBrush users and it's just naturally going to attract some gripes from folks wishing for more out of this Maxon-Pixologic acquisition. For the record, I think this kind of griping has worked somewhat, because Maxon has kept the perpetual license model available for ZBrush 2023. We love Michael and respect what he does. Nobody's being negative towards him. It's just that, since we're gathered here particularly for seeing this software's latest offering, it just sorta sucks to see little benefit with "Maxon ZBrush," so far.

why cant we make a brush that applies displacemnt and colour at the same time (without alpha), if i get a standard brush, stroke = drag rectangle, alpha = alpha 08, texture = texture 27, switch on polypaint and paint on mesh with rgb and zadd = on. it will displace and paint, the displacement is controlled by alpha 08, but the colour and disp will also be confined to the white areas of alpha 08 (because its an alpha) why arent there seperate categories for alpha/displacement? why does alpha = displacement as well as alpha? please fix this pixologic!!

Nothing very important but the scene looks a bit "unnatural" [for a ball with a face :D] because the impact and subsequent state should move the tongue in the opposite direction >> its point of union with the head.
