Eyelash curve brushes can be tricky to use. The direction that you draw the curve does matter a lot. So if the eyelashes curving the wrong way, try drawing right to left instead of left to right. The main setting you need to adjust to get it to work right are found in the Stroke>Curve palette. Curve step will adjust how long each segment of the curve is. I usually need to turn this down to create a proper curve. This also affects how many lashes are in the stroke. So if you need the eyelashes to be closer together, lower this slider. Make sure Bend and Snap are on in this palette as well. The brush I have also has multiple different types of eyelashes. You can use the hotkey "M" to choose a different eyelash. This is especially useful because the bottom and top eyelashes are very different and therefore need a different kind of mesh. I had to test out each one to see what they looked like because the preview didn't tell me anything. Sometimes the eyelashes are kind of floating above the curve you've drawn as well. You can change this in the menu: Brush>Depth>Imbed slider to something in the negative value to lower where the eyelashes are placed. Those are my tips for getting the eyelash curve brush to work properly. It can be a bit of a learning curve to get them to work they way you want. I hope this helps!
