The most recent Zelda title that I can think of that has actual horror elements is twilight princess and I personally think that that game is amazing. eeeh, most of twillight princess's attempts at being creepy or disturbing just comes off as edgy to me. People also tend to assume that the corpse is 100%, totally the Ganondorf from TP, and they assume there is a wound under the glowing hand which has been assumed to be releasing the malace. However, in the close up shot of the hand we can clearly see that the malice is coming from the wounds made by the incredibly sharp finger nails of the hand, not a chest wound. Furthermore, the wound in TP Ganondorf's chest penetrated all the way through his torso, so if malice was coming from that wound, then there should be malice coming from his back aswell, and from what we can see, there is no malice coming from his back. Let's not forget every Ganondorf had a head jewel, so to say that the jewel proves it's the one from TP is a stretch. The jewel has a completely different design than the other head jewel designs. Also, his ears in TP are pointed, but in the trailer they are clearly round, which suggests this is a different Ganondorf. In conclusion, stop assuming it is 100% the Ganondorf from TP. It could be, but it might not be. Stop accepting something as fact before it is proven, especially if there isn't enough evidence to back it up.

Can we talk about how the trailer theme seems almost... decayed? Like the way the notes on the throne in Hyrule Castle are missing (or placed wrong!), it feels like something happened to the trailer theme (though the voices seem to come through fairly clearly on a reversed playback...). I am left wondering if there is another known song which would match better? Something that has been ravaged by time to become this halting, uncomfortable piece driven by the heartbeat of an undead King of Evil? As for the lyrics, I heard the poor hyrule for link has found the body lyrics before anyone mentioned it, but! BUT! the last word also sounds a *lot* like... Vaati. Then. Again. Why would a trailer for a game made in Japan by primarily Japanese people have English lyrics at all? I don't speak any other non-Romance languages, but with all the hisses, pops, and gutterals undertoning the words... is it even English? Or are we hearing multiple languages layered? Or... is it the demi-gibberish we heard from Midna? So many more possibilities appear when you expand your confirmation bias ;)
@silverkyre4 жыл бұрын
I feel like the song must have some speech or vocal sounds in there but they're probably distorted in some other way other than just backwards. And Hey if it does have anything to do with TP maybe that's what's in there. But I think it's more likely just for atmosphere and had no actual meaning besides this is a creepy aesthetic.
@saulcuthbertson72484 жыл бұрын
I haven't actually played any other Zelda games, but I have heard Fi, and I think that the voices could be her, I would really like that as she was already taking part in the adventure when she told Zelda what to do. I think it would be really cool if Fi came into this game. However I haven't heard what Midna sounds like so you could be completely right and I could be completely wrong.
@aurafox14 жыл бұрын
It's not uncommon for English to be put into Japanese games. For example, Mario Sunshine's voice acting is all in English, even in the Japanese version of the game. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4bHaWh_mqppqpI Even in Zelda, Midna's voice is made up of garbled phrases that were recorded in English by a Japanese VA. You'd be surprised how often this happens. Presumably, it could be because of a preference for specific VA's (in Sunshine's case, it's likely because Mario already speaks English), it could also be done for ease of localization with games that are obviously going to be localized. (English is a much more commonly understood language internationally than Japanese). In Midna's case, they likely went for English to make the voice sound like an actual foreign language, but garbled the recording so that it isn't actually recognizable as a real language to make it sound more like an original one (this is like the opposite of how Animal Crossing's Animalese is localized differently to sound more like the local language in order to make it sound more familiar.) I'm willing to bet this audio is made in a similar way to Midna's, using garbled voice clips to create the illusion of an ancient language.

honestly im not particularly familiar with the death theme, but ive played a couple of zelda games and the music definately sounded familiar, though from where i couldnt say. that said, its pretty clear to me that there is a common theme between many of the tunes in the zelda franchise and it in my opinion is most likely that shining through

Thank you, this is exactly my thoughts its bright and colorful but dark behind the color. Much like the mario universe hiding that Mario murders enemies with the gravity of him falling on top of them. Plus the entire original game of super mario bros the bricks were stated to be toads! So if there's anything Nintendo does right its dark stories behind colorful games, and Botw is no different. Botw even feels empty compared to the other titles of Zelda like TP and OoT, Windwaker maybe not as much but still a similar thing happened there too just less.. Ganon-y.

I've been saying since before the trailer dropped that Breath of the Wild was an incomplete story. Call it a "Sequel" for ease of communication, but I fundamentally believe we are just in the intermission and #BotWAct2 is what they're working on. As for the "darker" aspect, I'm pretty sure they're just being coy about us going #DeepUnderground; i.e. literally "dark." I'm sure there will be some creepier elements all the same though. Thankfully there seems to be plenty of Luminous Stone down there.

That said, Teams or other methods can allow easy communication and collaboration, meaning that hopefully, development of the sequel shouldn't have been impacted to any degree that slows it down. I think you make an interesting connection at 8:30 about the three different energies being tied to the three different parts of the triforce. Expanding on that, I think it's neat that we have three separate tribes now, each associated with a different piece of the triforce: the Gerudo for power, the Shiekah for wisdom, and the Zonai for courage. Wouldn't it be neat if we were to find historical evidence at some point in the games that shows that each of the three tribes worshiped one of the three goddesses (Din, Nayru, and Farore) that fit their ideals, and that each goddess, pleased by the loyalty of their subjects, decided to impart knowledge and abilities from their domain on the tribes that adored them so much? It would also give us cool insight into how each tribe became what they did. The followers of Din were granted her power, and became a fierce tribe of warriors known as the Gerudo. The followers of Nayru were granted her wisdom, and became pioneers of advanced, unbelievable technological advances, calling themselves the Shiekah. Finally, the followers of Farore were granted her courage, and became a clan of steel willed barbarians, fearless enough to build sprawling civilizations in even the deadliest of jungles, taking up the name Zonai. I realize this is all just head canon, but it would be really cool to find out the lore goes that deep, and it makes enough sense that it could be a starting point to fill in other blanks in some of the Zelda universe.

@@xenogen372 yep. Idk where I heard this, but the composer wanted to have the music sound foreign to both English speakers and Japanese alike, so that the music in the background is simply supporting what's happening on screen without causing too much of a distraction. Regarding the theory that Breath of the Wild 2 could be a prequel, it’s still not entirely unlikely; after all, the sequel to Red Dead Redemption turned out to be a prequel to it. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo took more than a couple of inspirations from Rockstar’s latest title. All that being said, I’m more inclined to think the events of Breath of the Wild 2 will take place _after_ the original.

I wonder if Zelda might be playable as a kind of tutorial for the player, similar to the function of the Great Plateau in the first game. Perhaps she goes through some trials to teach her combat. This might be an interesting way to make the game more accessible to those who didn't play the previous entry in the series.

You know what else proofs it can't be Demise? He literally faded out of existence AND his Essence was absorbed by the Master Sword. The first Demon King has literally no way to return as long as there is no one who can extract his essence from the sword and put into a suitable host body. And no one in every single time line would know about that because it happens in a diffent dimension created by demise himself, no one but the spirit of the master sword and the Hero of the Sky.

So many people think the sequel will have co-op, I'm about 99.9 percent certain it wont. Don't get me wrong it would be cool, but The Switch had a hard enough time rendering the original with only Link on screen. The possibility that it could handle rendering two player's screen's simultaneously while maintaining a stable frame rate is a near impossibility. I think Zelda could definitely be playable, but only in a way similar to how Ellie from The Last Of Us, or more precisely Boy from God Of War were involved in gameplay.
@kurosawa98574 жыл бұрын
Yeah a co-op is very unlikely, it also wouldn’t fit the game’s narrative at all Maybe in a future game, but the way this is set up it makes no sense

I am so glad to learn the term Mondegreen effect. I have a personal favorite example of that, with Soto Mundo by 2 Bit Pie. 24 seconds in, some broken up audio plays and it sounds vaguely word like. Now I’m _pretty sure_ that the uncut audio used for it is at 3:05 of the song, and I _know_ it isn’t any phrase… but all it took was me misplacing my morning beverage while listening to it to hear “Where is the coffee?” and now I can’t unhear it. Now I always sing my screwed up version of Soto Mundo when getting coffee. Speaking of, where is the coffee? where is the coffee?

I created a mondegreen when I was little. The Beatles have a song called "Michelle" that has some French in it: "Sont les mots qui vont tres bien ensemble / Tres bien ensemble" As a really young child, I didn't recognize this as French. Instead, it sounded to me like, "Someday monkeys won't play piano, and some...play piano, and some..." Listening back to the song, I can definitely hear where I got it from, but that's the whole idea. It's a meaningless lyric that I came up with to try to make sense of something that, to me, sounded like complete gibberish.

As seen in Skyward Sword, Demise's souls is (or was, Fi said it would have been consumed later by the sword) sealed in the Master Sword. His souless body became the Imprisoned, that was DESTROYED BY THE TRIFORCE. And the Triforce never fails, it is absolute. So, no, maybe his soul is still fighting Fi in the sword (and that would explain why Fi never awoke from her slumber), but his body is history. I honestly think Skyward Sword was hinting at being only "Link vs Demise ROUND 1", and we will see him again games from now (we still don't know what Fi and Ghiraim actually are, and why Demise has a "Master Sword"), but no, that body is Ganondorf's body.

It's a common... joke, I guess, that the song is saying that. I, personally, have seen more comments than I can count just stating "COFFEE SODA...etc." I don't know who came up with those "lyrics", but I wonder if they were expecting it to become as widespread as it has.

What if the language being spoken in the seal isint guerdo script but ancient Hilian. It would make more sense if the seal was actualy created 10 000 years ago then it's likely they would have spoken ancient Hilian. I don't know if we have a way to translate ancient Hilian to English so we might not be able to translate it if I am right.

Don't forget, the people of the sky have their own language too (ancient hylians, basically). Twilight princess has that language, though it's very limited and even the book written in that ancient text, who's missing letters we needed to find...under or behind statues. Owl statues.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a "sequel", it takes place before the original. Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a "sequel", it takes place before the original. We do not know for certain that it is a narrative sequel to the game Also a side note, more than likely the sequel will have nothing to do with the Zonai, as I'm sure the team would much rather make a new original story than be chained to what a book that they had minimal involvement in says about a few buildings
