Same for me. The weird thing is that nearly all my friends still play video games, but the conversations just don't happen. And when they do, they're not really passionate or excited. Two young kids came into my store the other day, we had a conversation that bridged generations that was awesome. Excitedly talked games for a while and I realized how much I miss it.

Back in 2012, one of my justifications for buying a WiiU was that I KNEW there would be a new Zelda game on it. Like a lot of people, my WiiU got some use, but nowhere near what I was hoping for. The lack of 3rd party support for the WiiU made the over all experience of being a WiiU owner a little underwhelming. When Zelda was announced for WiiU and Switch, I had already made a mental decision that I would be playing it on WiiU, just to get VALUE out of the console, but it also seemed like a good send off for the WiiU.

Not always. There's plenty of bad nes graphics. The reason is because 3d graphics are becoming more and more realistic, something you can't do with sprites. And the games that are made in a retro style are mostly nostalgic. There's unlikely to be a sprite based game nowadays that's as big as botw

About the guardians James, I used to run but I found out it's much easier to deflect the laser with any shield. The walking ones take 3 deflects to destroy. You wait for it to charge up the laser and when it turns blue you immediately press deflect but do it on a close range so the timing is easier

It still started out as a Wii U exclusive and was only developed on Switch in tandem, late in development... Nintendo could've tried to push the graphics even further for the Switch release, but it wouldn't have worked on the Wii U, so all they could do at that point was polish the graphics a bit for the Switch version!

"Porting is also the term used when a video game designed to run on one platform, be it an arcade, video game console, or personal computer, is converted to run on a different platform" (Wikipedia). It's funny how you mentioned all of your weapons breaking fighting the guardians right after mentioning the Master Sword losing power. The thing is, the Master Sword wasn't designed to be an all-around go-to weapon in this game; it was meant to be the perfect counter to guardians. The Master Sword glows with bright light whenever you face an entity of the Calamity (A.K.A the guardians!), and it does massive amounts of damage per strike. Also, in that state, the sword will almost surely not lose power. It's significantly upgraded in every way against guardians, and it's probably your best defense against them. So don't waste the Master Sword on random enemies, and it'll be your best friend.

You CAN setup campfires in the rain. Just do it under a tree or rock. Try to find SOME kinda cover from the droplets. Even any rocky ledge that may protrude out over ur head, try there. Where there’s a will there’s a way. Try sprinting while holding the whistle button down. Infinite sprint!! Ps hylian shield can break but can be repurchased from the island that you built the homes on

The guardians can be taken out with one well-placed blue arrow. Also, just run sideways to avoid the laser (doesn't work when too close).

BOMBS BABY! Unlimited bombs helped me get through a lot of the game when I didn't want or have weapons to break. I killed almost every Hinox by running around, dropping bombs as they chased me.

The lack of overworld music also bugged me. Adventuring in dead silence kills my enthusiasm a little. I was lonely and thought Link was lonely, so I caught 10 fairies and I carry them with me everywhere. I now have ten fairy friends.

Overworld music would've gotten really grating in a game of this size. It's fine when you're playing a game like Oot that takes around 30 or so hours to beat but a game like Botw that can take hundreds of hours to beat it would be horrible.
@sammyshehole
@sammyshehole 4 жыл бұрын
MrPizzaslice Not really. Witcher 3 has a bigger total map than this game and it had background music, while still having that atmospheric nature to it. It’s all about what music the developers choose and Witcher’s devs chose well. I’m sure Nintendo could have pulled off the same thing if they tried.

My biggest issue with the game is that there wasn't enough dungeons, and the ones the game did have (Divine Beasts) looked basically the same. They tried to make up for that with the shrines but they also looked the same. I know they wanted the focus to be more on the overworld but I really missed the dungeons. I still love the game though.

Wii u an switch version maybe almost the same but the switch version is way easyer and quicker to get some playtime in. You dont have to boot the system it everytime you want to play or have spare time and dont have to sit in one place. Turn it on and you are instant in the game. (from controller or system itself) You can pick it up everywhere in the house and sneak some game time in. As for the game , i liked it but most zelda fans around me didnt like it as much as it was to much different from most zelda games. The game has huge ups but a lot of disappointing aspects as well. (execution of beast and a lot of shrines are to simple or repetitive, disappointing endings, a lot of the world map isnt used and only filled with korok seeds to no be to empty)

Not enough enemy variety? There are over 48 different monster types alone, not including bosses. The whole point of this game is the adventure, which it does amazingly well. This game actually made me feel like I was on a grand adventure, and I am thankful for that. This game deserves every good thing coming to it.

I liked the game a lot, found all the shrines, most of the koroks, the secret village, the blue rabbits that give you rupees, the fairies, I even found out that if you hold less than 3 fairies in your pouch, the fountain gets refilled, and the amount of detail in the game is awesome, the clues and dialogue by the NPCs, the Easter eggs from precious Zelda games, the champion's weapons, how to make a catapult out of a box, a rock and a plank, this game is just amazing to explore and discover. Plus it got some great physics to play with. Sure, the story lacks some emotion and content, but I honestly didn't mind, just imo.
