You mean just shy of 2 years? Because, mathematically, 52 weeks a year, 1 episode a week, basic application of math... ...also, yes, we would. ALSO, you COULD do it every OTHER week, and do a one-off game every OTHER week, so it'd take 4 years, but still be pretty tits.

Chrono Trigger would be awesome to see. It's 20 hours long so it's only 3-4 times as long as Link's Awakening, actually, so it wouldn't take as long as you might think.

but he played most of links awakening alone, at it still took a 2 part video just to recap and play the final dungeon. And yes the play very slowly, probably would take them 5 sessions or so (if they only play chrono trigger), splited into 10 to 15 videos. Which i wouldn't mind AT ALL, chrono trigger is my favorite game of all time

It's crazy how games can have an effect on you. I played this as a four year old on the old game boy. I spent years trying to figure this game out! When I finally beat the game and watched the Island and all those people disappear, I felt like I actually lost all of those people (If that makes sense). I get goosebumps every time. Yeah, this is one of my favorite games ever for that reason.

Iamafishproductions same here, i was so happy to discover this game when i was a kid and was entranced in it, i couldnt believe actually (with all the crappy half ass gameboy games out there) that this game had so much depth and detail for a gameboy game and a game in general. always glad to see the positives like this on the comments.

Did you ever consider that maybe it's you and not everyone else? The point is that you meet all of these people and get to know them and their plights only for them to disappear forever. In a way they all die to Link and the player.
@REALTRUTONYNESS
@REALTRUTONYNESS 7 жыл бұрын
actually if you beat the game without dying I know that sounds impossible but if you do there is an alternate ending. in order to do this you don't know every time you die there's a number that goes next to your name in the main menu? in order to avoid this every time you die turn off the Game Boy. if you beat the game with 0 deaths you see an extra sequence where a a portrait of Marion appears in the sky then slowly turns into a seagull and flies away. if you remember her dialogue stating that she wished she could fly far away from this island after turning into a seagull. sort of a happier ending.
@Vednier
@Vednier 6 жыл бұрын
Well, nintendo is known for bittersweet endings, especially in Zelda series - like Ocarina of Time with Link getting "no girl for u" with "sorry, link" and all his hard work erased fom timeline, or Twilight Princess - another "no love" ending. Its like a intended pun already.

I'd watch Chrono Trigger fuck yeah. CT is literally my favorite game. I'm 30 years old and it still hits me right in the feels. You guys could cut down on the amount of episodes if you cut out most of the non important battles. Just show the bosses and story parts. If you have a cartridge with a new game + file available that would make it go a lot faster too. When I do new game + I can get through the game in a few days, no more than 24 hours playtime. Granted I can play that game with my eyes closed. If you put out 30 minute episodes with the non important battles cut on a new game + file I imagine you could get through it in no more than 6 months worth of episodes. Another benefit of using new game + being you can skip the side quests at the end of the game because you should already have every ones ultimate weapons. The thing that makes CT take so long is having to grind. If I had my cartridge I would happily send it, but I only have an emulator.

adramelk44 The battle systems in CT and FF 4, 5, and 6 are nearly identical.....as with just about any turn based RPG by Square that came out at that time. Zachary Erickson Got that right, the graphics don't look as dated as VII because pixel art just has this lovely feel to it that never gets old for me (and may be a reason that a lot of modern indie game developers have chose to use 2D pixel art) and IMO I feel the plot and the characters are superior, Kefka trumps Sephiroth.

This game is a drastic improvement to the original Zelda. Watching this makes me want to play this game and I've never really played any of the Zelda games before. Shouldn't learned by the end to shit-can the sword when it's not an effective weapon. ALWAYS HAVE JUMP unless there are 2 other items you must have equipped. Jump would have saved them at 12:25, and as someone said last video, Jump allows your to charge your sword and unleash the attack after jumping to fly in their direction while spin-slashing (not in DX though) If sword hits them, have sword and jump. If bow hits them, DON'T have sword and bow, HAVE bow and jump.

I used to do dungeon 8 before 7. The trick is to go get the fire rod early, which instant gibs the dungeon 7 boss, along with all of the enemies you fight before you would have had the weapon. The 7 boss was an annoying bird that keeps throwing you off the tower. But if you got the fire rod first, you could just torch it in a few shots. It was fun doing things out of order back then, which you couldn't do in later games. I also did the Snes Zelda dungeons out of order, for different benefits. This is the kind of thing you figure out running a game repeatedly. They were not always a linear path back then. If you already knew where every dungeon was, then as soon as you had the ability to open one, you could enter it. The numbers on the maps were just a suggested order, not a required order.

Great play! Links awakening have always been my favorite zelda game so really appreciate that you did it. Do we want to see crono trigger or ff3 for a whole year? Hell yes!

You have my vote for Chrono! Don't think it would take you a full year, especially if you focus the videos on the major parts. What I mean is spend most of the time on the dungeons and story portions and avoid showing the shopping moments, travelling etc. I think you could pull it off in 15-20 half-hour parts, depending on if you choose to include the side-quests or not. Maybe do one episode of Chrono every other Monday and keep playing different games in between episodes, so that it doesn't get repetitive. Would be awesome to see you guys play through it, as long as enough people are interested, I know you guys love it as much as I do!

If you beat the game without dying, Maron will appear in "The End" screen.

James, I'm so glad that you finally got to play Link's Awakening. It's one of my all time favorites. I used to beat it over and over as a kid to watch the ending. Chrono Trigger is my all time favorite game, and Cinemassacre is my all time favorite channel! Few things would please me more than to watch y'all play Chrono Trigger for as long as it takes. And Mike, as always thanks for the great video.
