Wade encouraging James to make his own channel has really been an awesome net positive for the retro tech community on here. You can see with every video James getting more and more comfortable behind a camera.... despite what people online may tell you, being on a camera and talking is not a walk in the park and takes some time to get used to. Keep up the great work ol' mate James, I'm subbed to you on Floatplane as well!

0:59 i buy them from glasses repair kits. Specifically the tiny screws that hold the nose pads. About the same size. Tho, i do drill out the old screw post, pour resin inside and redrill for a new hole for them. Better than forcing the old hole.
@Psytherea4 ай бұрын
Would filling with super glue work instead of resin? Also for the screw you can get the screw measurements and find screws for plastic (typically wider threads than screws going into metal). Then use flush cutters that can handle hardened steel and a diamond file to clean up the burrs

For the tiny screws I would go to a thift store like Cashies and purchase a parts donor watch. Most Casio and Timex watches made within the last 20 years used tiny screws like that. Just get a cheap ugly one that has the same size or even larger might help.
@DUKE_of_RAMBLE4 ай бұрын
Just incase others don't see it... Someone else suggested using the screws in an Eyeglasses Repair Kit. To which I concur with that suggestion. Donor watch definitely makes for a good fallback option, though!

Your phone was clearly listening in on your conversations (and using it's 5G to hack your brainwaves)... So it knew to suggest this! That's actually only half joking, too 🥴 Years back, AvE had mentioned in a video how he and a friend were driving, with his phone in the cupholder, and he took it out to do something on it, and got an advert for THE EXACT THING they were talking about. It was something construction related or the like, so not coincidental lol That's when he checked and found it that, at least back then, having the phones voice assistant always listening can indeed lead to those kind of things happening. That's when I decided to never enable Bixby or Google Assistant 😅 _(also because where I live, it would've used all my data bandwidth, which was also what my home internet ran off of at that time)_
