I'm gonna get into some nuances here, but I think in the SPIRIT of the rules of this Randomizer, the seed wasn't impossible. Using a boss key skip to beat Volvagia rewarded the Fire Temple Boss Key. Then, that boss key can be used to beat the Fire Temple boss. Meaning even though the boss key skip would result in the last NEEDED medallion being obtained, the final unnecessary medallion instantly becomes obtainable legitimately. Therefore, the boss key skip allows for 7 dungeons to be beaten without skipping boss keys on any of them, and the seed is not impossible.

@@milestailprower In general, in video games where there's a glitch that lets you go fast, the reason it happens is that an action which moves your character very fast for a short time gets extended somehow. For example, super sliding and all its variants are extending the very fast but very brief push back experienced when shielding damage. Falling off steep slopes like that tends to give a quick burst of speed. I'm unfamiliar with that particular trick, but I think I know what mechanics cause it. From what I understand, it's perhaps a combination of down A and ESS position. Down A is the bomb on the ladder glitch. Named so because the A button has down on it until it's canceled. ESS is extended super slide. ESS position is a portion of analog input on the control stick just outside the deadzone and just before normal movement. It's what maintains Link's speed and makes extended superslides work. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like ZFG has the stick in the ESS position during that trick. Down A -> walk up steep slope -> cancel down A (If I remember correctly, it's done by falling) -> impart high sideways velocity with steeper slope -> ESS -> jumpslash too late to get the item. I could be totally wrong about this. If so, Id love to hear a correct explanation.

You can always tell the seed by the objects shown above the file select,, in this case it was Stick Bow GoldScale Boomerang PoachersSaw. In the worst case you could go back to the stream itself and get the link to the spoiler log directly (date of the stream is in the opening of the video)

It does not matter that your generator is not perfect and misses some, but you can totally avoid a lot of impossible seeds by excluding stuff there are not known glitches for.

Dude rolls No Logic, so he should know what he's getting himself into. It's totally possible for the randomizer to decide "Okay, Song of Storms is in the Kokiri Forest Song of Storms grotto and Light Arrows are in the Sacred Forest Meadow Song of Storms grotto" in a circumstance like that, that's just what you get in that territory. It could be said that no seed is truly impossible due to stale reference manipulation being a thing, but ya'know, whatever. Edit - Actually, that's not quite true because of decoupled entrances. With no logic, I assume you could theoretically have a seed that starts you in the Redead Grotto that's normally in Kakariko Village, when you exit it you go to the Wolfos Grotto from Sacred Forest Meadow, and when you exit that you just go back to the Redead Grotto because their entrances randomly ended up being a closed loop, meaning there's nothing to do stale reference manipulation with meaning it's truly impossible without external cheats. That said, a seed which does that, but for the time you don't start with would be brutally hilarious. It is playable and maybe indeed beatable, but one absent-minded save warp could result in your save becoming worthless. For added cruelty with a Plandomizer, put the Song of Storms in this closed loop, put five of the warp songs in the House of Skulltula, put the House of Skulltula in a Song of Storms grotto, and put the last warp song in a grotto in a different Song of Storms grotto so that they're all impossible to get.

He is running no logic, which is why impossible seeds can happen. Even then, no boss key skips is a self-imposed rule, so this seed is only impossible in that context. The seed itself isn't actually impossible.

There is both glitchless and glitched logic for oot rando to ensure beatable seeds according to the ruleset. There are some nuances though, like some glitches not being considered by logic, or logic always assuming you use keys in the worst possible way to ensure you can't softlock (since ZFG is save-scumming, that's not an issue tho). With ZFG's knowledge and experience, an unbeatable seed is very unlikely, and if it happens it is more likely that you notice it being unbeatable early on. Ultimately, that's the reason ZFG is running no logic. If you wanna try this for yourself, you should most definitely play with logic unless you are at or close to ZFG's levels of play. Otherwise you will find a lot of seeds that - even though ZFG would be able to beat them - would be unbeatable for you.

If the only way to travel beween two loops was an owl, it would still be fun to watch (even if it turned out impossible e.g. by requiring two visits). But if entire rooms are wholly inaccessible? I do not see the case for including those seeds.

Of course it would be cooler to have a truly random seed like ZFG wants it, but also ensure that it is beatable, or at least reduce the amount of possibly unbeatable seeds. There just isn't a version for this yet and it can't be trivial, otherwise it would exist.
