I did some stats on how many times ZFG played a song during this run*. It’s for people like me that are very curious: Lullaby: 11 Sun: 18** Storms: 3 Epona: 3 Saria: 3 Time: 2 Minuet: 2 Bolero: 3 Serenade: 3 Nocturne: 3 Requiem: 2 Prelude: 5 Scarecrow: 4 Total: 62 *) I’m defining this as ZFG taking out an Ocarina (or ‘Ocarina Item’) and having to play a song necessary for the speedrun. Does not include cutscene skips used to avoid learning certain songs (ZL, Minuet, Bolero, Serenade, Prelude, etc.) **) Sun’s Song was played 4 times while waiting for the cycles at Biggoron’s Sword. It might have been more times in other cases, but I’m p sure this is best-case scenario 1) First song played was Lullaby (Hookshot Ocarina Item at Graveyard gossip stone next to Shadow Temple) 2) Last song played was Scarecrows Song (Fire Temple) (If you don’t wanna include Scarecrows Song, it was Bolero going into Fire Temple) 3) Most frequently used song was Sun’s Song 4) Least frequently used song is a tie between Song of Time, Minuet, and Requiem Bonus) 🔽▶️◀️▶️🔽 / 🔼🔽▶️🔽▶️◀️ / ◀️🅰️▶️◀️🔽🔼🅰️🔽

If the timer ends when you lose control of link in the ganon fight, why does it start after the title instead of as you get control, or after navi enters your link house?

Typically all speedruns are timed this way. It begins at file creation or game start and ends right when you do the last possible input/go to final cutscene. The only exception I know to this rule is Paper Mario 1+2, where the game isn't considered finished until the credits roll completely.
