Alatreon is my favourite monster in world. His attacks are well telegraphed and audio queues are very nice too. Also, you are my favourite MH KZbinr because your explanations are so amazing. Sugoi!!! I'm MR 999 and SnS is my second favourite weapon (after hunting horn) because of what you taught me.

You're definitely in the minority on liking Alatreon. Most players don't like gimmicky monsters like him (i.e. behemoth, leshen, etc).

@@billyfraiser6298 no hes right imo. I'm not a fan of the team nuke but once the mechanics are understood its a non issue. Its easily one of the best fights they ve done. His fairly accurate hitboxes and generous openings to punish,are balanced with his high dmg and varied moveset. Its put together very well and miles away from behemoth n leshen. Call it "gimmicky' only if u throw out 99% of the fight for one move.

@@hiscores9282 Yeah Escaton really isn't that hard to deal with and everything else about the fight is awesome. Now that I've got his moveset down I actually want them to make Alatreon even harder lol. Just in terms of his general moveset of course, they shouldn't touch the Escaton damage threshold because it's fine as is.

@@billyfraiser6298 the only thing alatreon has as a gimmick is his elemental DPS check that isn't even an issue if you're competent enough to exploit his many openings to deal enough damage. His attack hitboxes are also extremely fair and he stays in an open arena compared to Behemoth and Leshen which require you to chase after them after each phase. The exaggerated topple when you do meet the elemental DPS check is also just so satisfying, which makes learning his fight just that much more rewarding. The only gripe I have with the fight is when he is airborne, but he usually comes back down quickly enough that it doesn't detract from the fight that much. In the end what I'm trying to say is that I don't think the people who like Alatreon enjoy the fight for the reasons you think they do. Edit: Thinking on it a bit more, I think the real gimmick of the fight is breaking its horns during dragon active mode to prevent it from switching to the opposite element, but again, I feel like that it's not really a huge issue if you have been learning the fight well enough to go ham on its head during his openings. The melee hitzone for his head is also pretty great, and in my experience the damage threshold to break them isn't very high either, both in solo and multiplayer.

You really need a near perfect run in order to solo Alatreon. If you don't do enough elemental damage when she's in one mode or don't break the horns while she's in dragon mode, your run is pretty much over. When you struggle to do what Zen is doing with ease in this video, that's when you realize how good he really is. 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌

Really good run Zen san as always! I used almost this exact set during my first few clears! Then switched to Safi-Teo set for farming, just for comfort and laziniess, LOL!

Ngl after watching both of your Alatreon commentary which I also tested for myself and retouched my builds actually improved my time, I used to get at least 18-20 mins and now its 10-15 mins, I also relied too much on dps and not gave defense skills (Specifically Evade window) a chance

I prefer Ice mode but I'm a Long Sword main and the Fire Kjarr LS is a lot better then the Ice one so if I make too many mistakes against Fire mode I'll end up taking too long and it will eventually shift into Ice mode

most people I see either go for Chef's Choice (the one that always gives you full HP and stamina) or the meat platter below it that gives you Attack Up (L). Anything aside from that will be pretty niche, if used at all. The combination for safeguard (it's on the last page) can be useful for tough hunts, but overall the skills you get from food don't really matter _that_ much unless you're going full min-max to get the absolute highest damage possible for a speedrun or something.

りっくん zenさんではなくて申し訳ないですが、 覚醒スキルの３枠を属性ⅤとⅥにして、装衣に属性強化装飾品を2つ付け、 おまけで猫の武器を属性にするとJRメインで普通に戦っても冰気片手剣で抑制できますよ。

りっくん 属性じゃなくて、攻撃で行くのであれば、スキルの属性強化レベル3と災禍転覆3を使ったり、 龍属性時に滅龍弾強化撃ちを混ぜると行けるらしいです。 私は試してないので、せっかく物理型をお持ちであれば、ぜひ試してみてください。
