Zenfone 10 UNBOXING

A little late as I've been quite busy here is my new phone! Somewhat alarmingly similar to the Zenfone 9, ASUS here are going for the internals in their marketing. Although the camera sensor is exactly the same as the Zenfone 9 which is a disappointment. The audio system is also the same, which again is a bit sad because one of the things ASUS are very well known for is aiming to improve their audio year on year.
Enough of this - none of this is yet tested as I just wanted to do the unboxing!

Wow! You got the spiritual successor to my Zenfone 8 Flip. Too bad it does not flip anymore though because that feature is essential for my vlog style. 😅 So this is a review unit that you have to send back?

That flip camera was true innovation, but of course, because Samsung didn't do it it's not worth bothering with 😏ASUS claim to have upped the mp in the selfie cam to 32mp via pixel binning. How much difference that makes in the real world I will be testing out! Noooooo my whole point there was that I do NOT get sent free phones because I don't have 1 million subscribers and am therefore completely irrelevant - but that has the advantage that I can always tell the truth and not have to lie because if I don't lie I won't get my freebie phones anymore. 😜

I actually prefer the open top / bottom minimalist cases, but my major gripe with this one is you lose the amazing grip you get with the phone. It's too slippery vs. say the sandstone texture I had on my OnePlus 7T Pro's similar case. So I went for a gel style case (albeit a little slicker in the middle portion than typical soft TPU cases, which provides more grip than the included case but not enough to get stuck in pockets). The problem is there aren't many great case options as this isn't going to be a high selling phone.

Going down my car side pockets and van at work the ends would get too dinged up to have an open case on this. I'm not fussed about case options as long as they do a gel one! Nothing is going to be a high selling phone when Samsung have the deepest pockets to pay for mind share. 😞

@@WondersChannel I have not been away since the pandemic in a hotel as i decided to retire but have been playing around on Tik Tok with some videos. Only mundane stuff as I dont go many places since i stopped working. Any more model videos coming?

While your camera might be crappy i don't think it's that crappy that you have to lower the bitrate to almost zero so idk what's going on with that , otherwise i had a relaxing time, nice ❤

What's your take on the phone. I have had a lot of issues on Xperia 5 IV. The fingerprint option went missing. WiFi speed was poor compared to competitors. Torch is bad. Does this have any issues, that I need to be worried, like software and hardware issues since it has been a month since you reviewed the phone.

Since I suffered a lot with my previous device, I don't want to make the same mistake again. But thank you for letting me know that you have a followup video coming next. Please also let me know if the proximity sensor issue is there, since there were complaints about it in the previous generation Zenfones.
