Hiking to this Church in a Cliff

This hike took me to the stunning region around Lake Garda in Northern Italy. I discovered this hidden cliffside church by chance while researching new projects. The pictures looked so spectacular, and I instantly knew I had to see this for myself. The nearby mountain range made for the perfect hiking challenge to complement the visit.
I began my journey in Ferrara di Monte Baldo, starting the long ascent to the mountain ridge. Once at the top, I headed north to the summit of "Cima Valdritta" (2,218m), where I set up camp for the night.
The next day, I continued south along the ridge, passing "Punta Pettorina," "Cima Telegrafo," "Vetta delle Buse," and finally "Rifugio G. Chierego," where I had my breakfast. From there, I descended into the valley, all the way to "Spiazzi," where the breathtaking Church is nestled. I stayed a couple of days in Spiazzi to absorb the atmosphere and visit the sanctuary multiple times. It was an incredible adventure, and I hope to have captured some of those “Zen” moments that I experienced.

Thanks for sharing your spectacular aerial video footage of the mountain range, Mount Baldo and the complete church structures. Santuario Madonna della Corona (Sanctuary of the Lady of the Crown), Ferrara di Monte Baldo, Italy The sanctuary was built before 1000. The chapel was built in the mid-13th Century. The original church was built in 1530, and the new church was completed in 1685. [10 :33] The facade of the new church includes the iconic Knights Templar Cross under the circular window. The Templar Cross can be seen throughout Switzerland.
