🏡 I've definitely been affected by the shortage - I paid a medicine finder service that found it for me twice. ($50 charge each search). I went a week without meds while on 5mg. I've got a ton of 7.5mg now since i moved up (express scripts came through for me with 3 months worth. The shortage has not affected me yet until I just got a script to titrate up to 10Mg / I don't need it until August though. 7.5mg has been easy for me to get for the past few months. Starting to get food noise back again after several months of 7.5 and have 7 pens left so I have to focus on my diet, control and continue excersize....I'll keep the faith as I have time to chase this. That is great I am on 10 and went about 4 1/2 weeks with no med. I had hunger pains constantly and gained 10 lbs. I am not looking forward to this every month not getting my meds. Blood sugar also rocketed

🏡 🏠 I’m a 76 year old female on week number 12 of my Zepbound adventure and have lost 12.2% of my body weight (23.2 pounds). I’m currently on 5.0 mg and having great appetite suppression and no longer experiencing side effects (headache and constipation), possibly due to taking LMNT and Magnesium. I have been very fortunate in as much as my pharmacy has been able to get the Zepbound for me in spite of the national shortage. Happy to report that I just returned from a week long vacation on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and I ate and drank whatever I wanted (and more) and still lost a pound!🤯🤩🤩 I am SO GRATEFUL for Zepbound!

I think the feeling of “leveling off” in the efficacy may be normal compound or otherwise. This week, my Mounjaro injection did not seem effective. My hope is that by continuing to switch injection sites this will not become a pattern. But, I believe this fear must be normal, especially when you are already at the highest dose allowed. 🏡 “Hope for the best, plan for the worst!” Curious - why not try to fill your Mounjaro script every month along with the compound? In the last two months I’ve been able to fill my 12.5 scripts for both Mounjaro and zepbound (my Dr wrote two scripts - one for zepbound and one for Mounjaro and then my pharmacist tries to fill both and whichever ones become available I buy both. And since you’re paying out of pocket, like me, this is an option for you. No pharmacy can limit the number of scripts you fill. Just a suggestion. Because I will ONLY take the brand name drugs - for me it’s a safety thing.)

Express scripts stoped my orders due to not having any. My doctor will now try for 5mg. Then keep on trying every week until I get more. Currently on 7.5mg Zepbound.

Do you think the FDA will eliminate the ability to get affordable, compounded tirzepatide, once the shortage is over? I strictly use compounded meds, I am concerned that once the shortage is over I’ll have to pay $1000 per month for the brand name. BCBS actually encouraged me to become a diabetic to get the drugs covered. I am pre diabetic and they said “you are so close, once you are there we can cover it.” So it doesn’t look like they will ever cover it, since I am trying to avoid becoming diabetic. That is why I need the compounded version. My accountability is today I started using free weights in my home 🏡.

I have Redrock too, but it came quickly, They put the order in on a Thursday eve. and it came the following Tuesday. It is my first week, 2nd shot tomorrow. I have noticed that I can stop eating more quickly and lost 4 - 5 Lbs. (water wt I bet and I got a new scale). Before I was eating healthy and tracking what I ate, but it seemed the progress was incredibly slow. Perhaps give them a call. Last week I was like a kid waiting for Santa Claus - waiting for the Fed Ex truck to come.

Panic for what? Other great, legitimate telehealth providers and compounding pharmacies exist. edit: The meds are equally effective and 1/4 to 1/3 the price of what name-brand is. You can still stay on Tirzepatide ..... just compounded. There are too many great telehealth services that charge 400 or less for even the highest dose.

Nope. They are not that powerful though to shut down legit compounded Tirzepatide (they own Zepbound and Mounjaro not the actual peptide) even though they are trying their best. Compounding glp meds will not disappear if/when the shortage is over. They were functioning just fine before any shortages but they were adding a B vitamin (like B3, B6, B12) and many will go back to that. Empower Pharmacy or Strive Pharmacy (just 2 examples) were adding a little B vitamin before the shortage and never stopped. edit: There's no reason to force yourself (or be forced) to pay 1k a month.
