How many kilometers you already did, how is battery and tires holding up, any issues so far?

Hey there! Just over 800km on it so far. Nothing other than general maintenance like making sure all the bolts and nuts are tight. But other than that it’s been a champion! Absolutely love it!

@@ADayintheLifeofMr23 It is definitely an incredible scooter, also a looker! Just wish it had rubber air or tubeless tires for better grip and softer ride.

Papp Sebastian Georgian no other scooters. I am building an electric skateboard from scratch that I’m going to be posting about soon with a whole series on that. I work for a company called Genesis.

why not disassemble it. and paint it in black? easier and quicker i believe.

You’re right it would have been faster and easier. I was looking for a project to do some vinyl on. But I did end up getting them powder coated a little later on and that turned out looking great!

I wonder what shop would wrap my zero 10x for me 🧐
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 4 жыл бұрын
I’m sure you could get a bunch of shops who could do it for you but the cost would be the biggest issue I think. I work for a shop that does vinyl so I had access to the material and also I have a little bit of know how when it comes to using it. Most shops would charge a good amount for these pieces. In my short experience with the vinyl wraps on the suspension arms I’ve already gotten a few rock chips in the vinyl. I think just being so close to the ground it’s going to be inevitable. I’m most likely gonna get these powder coated this weekend just so I don’t need to worry about the vinyl peeling down the road and becoming a headache. The quote I got for powder coating all the chrome bits on my 8x was only 80 bucks. I don’t think you would find a vinyl shop who would do these pieces for less than 80-100. Most likely something like this would cost several hundred dollars to wrap in vinyl mostly cause of the time it would take to do them. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and for the comment!

Jonathan Strange thanks a lot! Truth be told....I’m most likely going to end up powder coating or anodizing them like the other person commented. I went out for one ride and I already got a few rock chips in the vinyl. 😩 so this won’t be a long term solution. It was fun to do tho! Thanks again!

I suggest upgrading the tires u have as well from those, to the ones of dualtron compact. Are higher quality. Just a tip, for a better scooter there !
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 4 жыл бұрын
That is definitely on the list. To be honest I’ve been putting it off cause I’m not looking forward to changing the tires. It doesn’t appear to be an easy task. Sorta ironic isn’t it?? Haha. I bought this scooter to not have to worry about changing tires........and now I’m worried about changing the tires. 😂

That looks great so much work but definitely pays off! I’m doing the same thanks for the tutorial. Was hoping you went around and zoomed out so we could see what it looked like. Hope you do the brake upgrade next cos that my plan. Keep it up mate

Thanks!! Brakes are on the list for sure! I just ordered a rear air shock so that will be the next upgrade after some lights and a horn. Let me know what you’re done....would love to see how yours turned out! I’m also sorta torn between a more permanent solution with these arms. Rock chips are something I didn’t really think of when deciding to use the vinyl. 1 ride and I picked a nice chip in the vinyl on my front one. So I’m not really sure how long they will last. But I think it really improves the look of them! Thanks again!

A Day in the Life of Mr. 23 Dam yes rock chips I wouldn’t have even thought of that. I guess the only permanent solution would b to paint them w/ some heavy duty stuff like brake caliper spray for cars, but then again I don’t wanna spray it i just wanna wrap. Haven’t done anything major to mine apart from a light horn and phone holder and will be replacing the grips and stem but not the handlebar as I like being able to fold them. I’ve put a new deck grip which covers it all and also the rear foot step. (Looks ok not so happy with the design lol) are u getting the dnm shox and if so which model cos I’m looking also.

Emille I think I’m gonna end up powder coating them. I have always been aware of the term but never really knew what it was. But basically it involves the parts being sand blasted and then they charge the metal and spray a powder on the pieces. Being charged with electricity the powder bonds to the metal and then its baked in an oven so it hardens and cures on to the surface. I found a local place on yelp that will do it for about 80 bucks total, so I feel like that’s a pretty solid deal. Since I’m planning on doing the shock I need to take apart the arms anyways so hopefully I can get 2 birds with 1 stone. I ordered a rear shock already and it should be here in a few days. According to Falcon PEV the DNM AOY-36RC 165mm is the correct fit for the rear. I found a seller on eBay to be the cheapest over buying from Falcon PEV. They told me that there isn’t a replacement for the front however. But I did find another video of someone who replaced their front shock with a 150mm shock and it worked....but it seems the 150mm is a little bit more difficult to find. I’ll probably do the rear first and then when I get the brakes l end up replacing the front one.

A Day in the Life of Mr. 23 Sounds awesome definitely go with the powder coat cos that’s a really good deal. I really wonder how much of a difference upgrading the shocks will do and ur right there’s quite a few sellers out there that’s much cheaper than Falcon for the dnms. Excellent info looking forward to ur next vids!

I did consider that. The shop I work for did some work at a powder coating company so that was my first thought. My biggest hesitation with that was just taking it all apart and putting it back together. Also, the amount of turnaround time to complete them. If you don’t mind me asking.....how much did it cost you to do that? Depending how long the vinyl lasts I still may consider doing a more permanent solution. Thanks for watching!

A Day in the Life of Mr. 23 it was $100 to do all 4 arms plus vertical stem collar. Taking it about isn’t too bad plus I did suspension upgrade at the same time

Mod Addiction to air suspension? What are your thoughts? I’ve really been going back and forth with that. I feel like with the solid tires on my 8X the air shocks are gonna help a lot more. That really isn’t too bad at all. I was expecting 100 per arm or something crazy. I want to upgrade the brakes too. These brakes are ok at best. I’ve ridden a 10X and the sensitivity is SO much better with the larger brake wheel and air tires. I want to do the hydraulic brakes for mine. Would make sense to do the shocks and brakes at the same time and if I decide to do like you might as well get the arms too.
