Fun fact: in the manga, after the Tower of Heaven arc, Ultear belittled Jellal’s brainwashed efforts. She said, “You can’t resurrect someone WHO ISN’T DEAD.” I think the reason they didn’t use that line in the anime was because they weren’t sure that the show would last long enough for it to come into play.

The story of fairy tail is soo great! One of the best antagonist of anime, up there with madara and aizen, one of the best written character in fairy tail and the best story anyone can have, zeref, one of the best character of fairy tail!

If u guys remember the little details of the previous arcs ,then u would realise that the issues regarding black magic like demons and stuff were related to Zeref yet it was subtly implied that everyone's main motive wasn't resurrection of Zeref himself bt this time Grimoire Heart's main motive is to 'awaken' him from his State of Rest (which is ridiculous in it's own way cuz the truth is quite different) ,and the term ResurrectioN was not used in the original subtitles ,the term was AwakeN Well that aside ,your gonna love Zeref's character in the future ,i can assure u guys ,he's by far my fav character in the series in terms of looks ,backstory ,drip and writing Also we r finally gettin to the point of having the 1st on screen couple growth in the series ,exciting !

Some people would say there's plothole where Natsu saved Elfman and Evergreen by just "ducking" even though the grass below them died too. Which means the thing that kills living things weren't just in the air but also affects the ground, WHICH means they should've died too. There's more to it than just "ducking".

And now begins the war between the top 1 official guild and the top 1 dark guild, Fairies vs Demons. As good as the previous arcs were, this is where I'd say Fairy Tail really pics up, with this ad the next two canon arcs between the three best in the series in my opinion (Everyone agrees with the next two being the top 2, not quite everyone puts this 3rd)

13:30 She also have beaten Cana there. Remember that Cana participated ever since they started these for the new gen kids. Laxus won first, then everyone failed, Erza, Mirajane, Mystogun and another fail (to be fair it could have been also a year when Mest actually got the rank for himself - but it was kept as secret because of his mission). Cana really didn't have luck with these. Even if technically she was pretty much the only one who finished second task this year and potentially would have won this, if not for Grimoire Heart. My bet is that, if Mashima decided to continue - Natsu would have failed to find it. Then maybe we would have a tournament for the win. Lucy and Cana potentially winning against Gray and Loki, and then we could have Levi and Gajeel winning against Everdeen and Elfman. To then finals maybe being just Cana vs Levi, with Cana winning (Cana vs Elfman would also probably be winnable). And then potentially Makarov would have been the final challenge, that hopefully this time Cana would have won after Lucy cheered on her - with Makarov giving her the rank seeing she actually wanted to win this time with everything she had. Then we could have the reveal of Gildarts fatherhood... Kinda makes you wish that shounens wouldn't do tournament arcs that are stopped by evil people. at least GMG had that to some extend.

The thing with the confusing lore surrounding Zeref... So obviously he is from the past. He's a dark wizard who came to prominence centuries ago. They mention this back during Eisenwald/Lullaby. So when it comes to people from the present talking about him, it's just like people now in our world with the info they have on figures from our own history. A lot of it probably comes from books on him they've read, lots of second and third hand accounts. Lots of speculation on him... Basically, they're all unreliable narrators when it comes to Zeref's lore. They think they know the truth of him, but they don't, so you can't take what they believe as the truth of him. Be it him being dead, him needing to be "awakened"...

I realised my comment could have led you to believe all that might have been in doubt. Some things people think of him will be way off, others just...skewed a bit, some truths hidden here and there... It'll keep you guessing what is true and what isn't
