i love how the kingdom is just the definition of failed state in the end most countries understood that there was no point in helping a kingdom that had no power, had basically nothing to offer and was stupid enough to anger a nation thousands of times more powerful

It took the Japanese half a day to believe the first nuke really removed most of a city. And three days later we did it to them again because their leaders absolutely refused to believe it was real. As did a massive portion of the population. I can absolutely understand why this could happen. You hear that effectively a nations worth of people died in one afternoon to a single spell that created mountain sized demon sheep? Or anything else that happens tbh, without video evidence your not gonna buy it for a while. So long you end up to far into it to back out.

@@gitgud7457 I know that there are some beings that can be a threat (for starters the true Dragon Lords), but these creatures are so rare, that aren't an issue the mayority of time, and even if a true dragon lord can in fact kill a player like Ainz, it turns out that Ainz has several Boss level monsters always around him and even in the rare situation where a dragon Lord could ambush Ainz alone, Ainz is not weak and have a lot of tricks up his sleeves so still Ainz and co can go around unchallenged 99% of the time.

@@animeturnMMD Sure but it's untrue that they don't take any threat seriously at all. The Dragon Lords can actually kill them. Also, what do you mean by "boss level monsters"? If you mean the Guardians, they are weaker than Ainz (if you count his equipment). Besides, the series was never really about physical struggle anyway.

@@gitgud7457 They are weaker than Ainz because bone daddy is more resourceful, but in raw power they are stronger than Ainz specially Albedo and her mysterious sister. (Remember how Ainz had to cheat with Shalltear to kill her in the first season, and by cheat I mean use powerful items that create an external factor which destabilized and countered Shaltear's combat style). I have never said that they don't take threat seriously, actually Ainz take it too seriosly, but it is rare for dragon lords to directly intervene like it happened at the end of the current anime season, so the rest of the time they are almost untouchable.

As someone who is up to date on the entire LN series, I didn’t realize how bad off the Kingdom was to begin with until watching your videos. I realize now how biased I was in favor of the Kingdom when I was first introduced to them in the story. Like, in most books/stories, the first people or group you meet in a new world are your future allies. And the fact that Ainz worked/defended Gazef and the fact that they had the typical noble society that so many manga and anime tend to favor definitely reinforced that. But then Maruyama made that society realistic- showing the realities of such a structure. The way things turned out by the end of Vol 14 were perfectly logical but not what a lot of people expected because of all those biases. Goes to show the strong sense of cause and effect the author has and their commitment to worldbuilding. Love it.

SPOILER Actually, Ainz ends up not conquering but DESTROYING the Kingdom! Ironically, however, this ends up solving all of the Kingdom's problems: Killing all of the corrupt nobles and reducing the population to manageable levels.

Reading the manga the Kingdom seemed bad and your video makes me realize how bad it is damn! But Jesus they can conscript possibly half a million people? That is a huge amount of soldiers for their level of tech!

There's actually quite a problem with numbers in this video. Normally, Kingdom can conscript only from about 100k to 250k, 300k max - anything more and it's agricultural economy will be axed. 500k-600k is EXTREMELY unusual case that would be enacted only in a state of emergency, such as SPOLERS (for more on that check vol.14 of the LN). Furthermore, numbers of conscripts from each noble are not especially correct too. One impoverished noble - a small baron with one or two settlements under his thumb, for example - can rally about few dozens of people, not a hundred. Meanwhile, those nobles who have more influence, wealth, land, etc. can bring with them from a thousand to few thousands - not 50k (wich was slightly less than a whole wing of the Kingdom's army at the ba... massacre of the Katze Plains). Royal army is really just a huge pile of barely battle-worthy people mishmashed together by a swarm of lazy stupid nobles.

@@Deng73 This is because the nobles fear any army that is actually competent, as they would be made up of commoners and serfs. The lower classes would see the army as a way to advance and become stronger and more politically active. Something that the nobles would not want.

Yeah, the events happening in this series would happened even without Nazarick, just that at that point then the Kingdom would have been even more down the drain. I would say what happened in the books is better, maybe?

Happens in the last third of season 4, . . . . . . . . but some idiot (Yeah, that one) provokes Nazarick, which then leads to a genocide, destroying almost all of the Re-Estize Kingdom. Leaving behind some nobles to take care of the land, one city (spared as a mercy), as well as some the Eight Fingers that were already working for Nazarick. I call this the better ending, as most people didn't had to suffer of the Kingdom becoming even worse.

It's not surprising that the Re-Estize Kingdom was annihilated after Season 4 or Volume 14 of the Light Novel. The Massacre at the Coates Plains pretty much obliterated the Kingdom's military and whatever was left wasn't much to stand up against Nazarick. Overall, considering the corruption and everything else, it might have been the right choice to simply wipe the Kingdom out of existence, rather than take over and rebuild it from scratch. So, I guess in one point of view, Phillip's idiocy which caused Nazarick to declare war on the Kingdom, allowed the Kingdom to meet its end quickly, rather than slowly fall apart.

That or the Slaine Theocracy would have continued it's efforts to destabilize the Kingdom so the Empire could conquer it. Either way they were screwed. They had too many enemies from outside and within to have survived long

Sorry to point this out, but Royal and nobles are not what you described. Royals are part of the king's bloodline, and nobles are people who have earned their place in the eyes and have been given a title and domain to rule.

the three things that bug me are the kingdom pepole don't seem to revolt like you think they would be I men how many resins do you need the second is the kingdom supplying weapons and armor that type of army would have the solders supply it them selves third how is it that noble only trine one or tow sons they would most likely have one touter the doubles as a adviser when they don't have any one to teach in exchange for food shelter and some many and protection so I have some trouble excepting the part of the story how ever the rest of it is so good that I still love the story

@@tizio3409 Honestly the princess could make the kingdom prosper even without Nazarik, but the thing is The princess is twisted. She only does good things for the sole purpose of pleasing climb. Even her reforms that the empire copied where more to get their attention to show how valuable she is so in the event they take over the kingdom, they would spear her and climb. The princess has the intellect to pull it off, after all albdo and demiurge actually LIKE her because of her smarts and usefulness. but ultimately she doesn't do any good for the kingdom nor does she care for it. Demiurge even describes her as a spiritual hetoromorph as her mind is NOTHING like a normal persons and is more like a demon or something major SPOILERS AHEAD. . . . . .. . . .. . . . . . . She flat out betrays her kingdom to join ainz. remember in the anime shaltear was about to attack brain but stopped because she saw climb? before the invasion demiurge showed someone to avoid killing, that was climb and that was a deal the princess struck with them. The princess ultimately kills her own father to prove her loyalty. because ainz declares war on the kingdom because one idiot attacked supplies. she is rewarded for her efforts by class changing to an imp (it's suspected by the overlord community that she's working her way to be come a succubus like albedo and imp is the first step to that) and has climb brought back to life cos ainz killed him in a duel. She then tricks climb into changing as well so they could be together forever and likely now bangs him every chance she gets. In the end, the kingddom gets wrecked. nearly 90% of it's people were killed off. Zanac and reven were the only ones who actually give a shit about anything but things were effectively out of their hands
