First of all, thank you for this great explanation of the immune system. Secondly, I thought the NK cells and dendritic cells were part of the innate system. Finally, you mentioned that there is a set of videos on the immune system; I found only three. If there are more, please show them; many thanks.

Very in depth yet easy to follow. For a topical medication that induces an immune response, see imiquimod or Aldara. Its mode of action, explained via lymphoid stem cell diagrams, provides viable therapy when used against virus' and tumors, specifically HPV and superficial skin cancers.

The antibodies are not on B-cells surface, when they're on the surface they're called the B-cell receptor, only once the B-cell gets activated and secretes these receptors, they are called antibodies - aka the secreted form of BCR-s.

Reticulocyte is labelled erythrocyte, which should be applied to red blood cell, if he's going to use that term. However, I really like the Zero to Finals very methodical approach with the really nice, simple (but very informative) white board diagrams. Much better than the other immune system videos I've looked at.

I loved this video, perfect balance between information and simplicity (please do more!). One possible error is, @13:22 you mention the "innate" immune system when it should be the "active" immune system since it has to do with the lymphoid stem cell group?

One of the best I've seen on KZbin. Well done! Don't the dendritic cells have a myeloid lineage and a lymphoid lineage?
@ZeroToFinals5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jacob! You are right about dendritic cells :D
@ZeroToFinals5 жыл бұрын
@@jacobvandijk6525 Great find - thanks. Looks like a clear and detailed lecture if you want to learn details about dendritic cells and their lineage. Dendritic cells are pretty complicated in their lineage so I have over-simplified it for this video and put them on their own rather than under the myeloid or lymphoid line. Hope this doesn't mislead anyone.
