I have a 3 fund portfolio but I have finally decided to invest in ETFs, alongside. I’m looking at SCHD, VOO, XLK or SCHG.

Not necessarily though there is a fair amount of overlap but that’s not necessarily a negative. Having a well balanced portfolio is KEY; impressively over the past two years, my initial deposit of 150K has grown to about 870K.

Great video and info! Do you have any recommendation for an ETF similar to SCHD but Ireland-based?

Thank you for another great video. As you know, a lot of us are not US citizens so investing through Ireland domicile ETF looks alike a great option. Can you help us with: 1 A similar video on how to buy Ireland domicile ETF for S&P500 through IBKR as Momo is not that popular? 2 And some info on few unpaid website to research ETFs Thank you so much Ziet

Thank you clovin! To answer your question: 1. Good suggestion! It's like trading US stocks & ETFs only actually, in the meantime you can check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHqwYpmZr7aXd6csi=WxeRzm8XFt0_iz1c 2. For researching ETFs, you can check out websites like ETF.com, JustETF, and Morningstar. These offer great, unpaid insights into various ETFs without needing a subscription!

Great explanation and good timing. I'm an etf investor and recently considering to implement the core-satellite strategy using ETFs to have a wider spread to different sectors. I'm thinking the combination of xlk, xlv(satellite) and the xlu, xlp, voo as the core of the strategy. I have done my research and found out that this combination tend to have better performance during market downturns while still having potential growth. What do you think of it, Ziet?
@ZietInvests5 ай бұрын
It’s entirely up to you! The “core” section is always a thumbs up, but the “satellite” part is very subjective because how sure you are that your weightage distribution is the “best” between cyclical vs defensive sector? And even then, too many satellites combined together would just yield you close to s&p500 - which kinda defeats the purpose to begin with, so just be mindful of that! Again, its your risk-reward profile to craft😁

Great explanation on the etfs! When investing in these etfs, do you take the currency exchange rates into consideration? The recent strengthening of the ringgit seems to have some effect on the etf investment. What’s your take on this?
@ZietInvests5 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! Currency exchange rates do play a role yes, like the strengthening of the ringgit can affect returns when converting back to MYR. But it also means you’re buying into foreign assets at a cheaper rate, so it can be a good time to invest long term? Just sharing some perspectives! (Personally still a fan of USD for long term)☺️

Hi jackson! I have money in both actually, and will divide them rather equally because both serve a little different purpose; obviously IBKR is cheaper in fees and no stamp duty hehe.

Where can we find the data to compare the performance of different ETFs when investing via DCA or monthly investment?.. most websites only mention performance for 1,3,5 years etc after single investment not taking DCA into consideration
@ZietInvests5 ай бұрын
Valid question, and a good one too! On a very high level, I dont think there are any websites with a DCA return calculator, as the return numbers are usually quoted as a set interval (usually months) rather than taken every single day, hence why even if there is a website that does such calculation, it would actually just back-calculate using nominal return i.e. return/12 like that (rather than effective return). A quick google shows this, but its not something I do on a frequent basis (though might be worth experimenting it next time!): www.tipranks.com/personal-finance/investing-and-retirement/dollar-cost-averaging?ticker=AAPL&startYear=2018&period=month&startMonth=12&endMonth=12&endYear=2024&monthlyInvestment=100&initialInvestment=1000&multipleRecurringInvestmentOnChange=0.01&multipleRecurringInvestment=1 You can actually do such simple return calculation by taking the returns from the website, then use the annualised rates and divide by 12 to get the monthly return, 2 year /24, so on and so forth - hope that makes sense!

I'm not quite understanding the purchase. so you said I would buy one share at whatever the price is at the time, say $400. Okay, but after that how do I invest more money into my ETF? What if I wanted to put in $200 or $1000?

Great video and very fuirtful thank you so much, by the a new subscriber 👋 Please i do have a question, Whats the minimum deposit to open an account with interactive brokers? Its my first time and i am totally confused (cus i've heard its 0$, then someone wrote its 10000$ , another one said its 2000$ ) Can you make it clear for me please
@ZietInvests4 ай бұрын
Hi albert, there's no minimum deposit required to open an account anymore, so $0 is correct. However, for margin accounts, they used to have a $2,000 minimum deposit, but that's not mandatory for regular cash accounts now!

Personally still have majority of my assets over in IBKR - so there you go! Both are phenomenal platforms, IBKR having more competitive products in terms of pricing and variety (like European markets), but moomoo MY stands out for Malaysians due to its license by SC Malaysia + much easier funding option etc - never wrong to have multiple brokerage accounts to diversify your holding risk☺️

stockmarkets are crashing everywhere...now it is said the USA is already in a recession...what would you be strategising during this time...ETF still viable?
@ZietInvests4 ай бұрын
During times like this, ETFs are still a decent option since they offer diversification - the balance between risk and reward (in my opinion). It's those tough times that people tend to invest less - fruit for thought!

HI ziet, can i know taking into account all the conversion and broker fees, is moomoo/IBKR still a better option to buy S&P500 ETF compared to Versa Global-i ETF?
@ZietInvests4 ай бұрын
Hey! Both Moomoo and IBKR offer competitive fees, especially for international investors. IBKR might have lower currency conversion costs compared to Moomoo, but Versa Global-i could be a simpler option if you’re looking for something more local with fewer fees. Depends on your investment strategy & preferred approach!
