From Congo 🇨🇩 to Zimbabwe, I spent most of my youth in Zim. I am a Zimbo by naturalization; got my Master's Degree from the UZ, worked for the government with ana sekuru Mugabe; those were my most wonderful and memorable moments of my life. God and Zimbabwe made me who I am. People are friendly, social, hard working & learned. Education is paramount in Zimbabwe. Now, in the USA still missing sadza, gotchagotcha and murivo. Sadly though, Mugabe should've looked after his people. He & his cohorts fought for privileges shared amongst themselves whilst the people suffered, millions who had to leave Zimbabwe to eke out a living in the diaspora to support their families left behind AND ironically, these brave diasporans are working in Colonial UK & it's satellites to remit monies to their families in Zimbabwe. FACT.😉

As a young Nigerian boy in the early 90s, my dad was a management consultant whose work often made him travel across different African capital cities. After his first trip to Harare, he returned and started telling his friends that he rented a taxi to take him around Harare for a whole day. He was looking for potholes, and he found none. That got me intrigued as young teenager. I also had a neighbour that was an athlete that participated in the all African games in Harare in the 90s, and he reported that Harare was the most beautiful city in Africa back then. I am glad more people are discovering the beauty of this country via this platform.

I went to the outer skirts of Harare, citizens are busy farming food for themselves, so where is the hunger I asked🤔🤔😳😱.......Zim is a sleeping giant!!!! Its days of glory will return....... @@paulinedavis8893 Do you know what though.....My daughters mother is from here in Ghana. What makes me so sad about the other half of their heritage is that I've now been here long enough to really get to know Ghana. I am in daily disbelief in the under-utilisation of the opportunity to grow here. The road system disappoints me before the state of the roads even does. If we in Zim had HALF the stability economically that is here, we would surely be sitting ahead of Rwanda. The town planning, the need to know someone for everything that there is a system in place for, the deep levels of organised corruption that makes ours in Zim seem like childs' play.......sigh.....in short what Ghana is, it shouldn't be, if Zimbabwe is a Yard stick. Finally.....when I finally visited the resting place for Kwame Nkruma........I CRIED at the state of the place. Wode Maya's work is much more important than just showing how dope Africa is....its in how its waking up people from this state of perpetual "okayness" with the way things are. Zimbabwe wasn't hidden....we just forgot how special we were. I know...because I was just back for a month trying to convince my brethren that we truly were a gem in a forest.....but we could become what everyone outside sees us as if we don't rise to the challenge of leading ourselves. I want to summarise like this: Zimbabwe's condition of infrustructure and development should be the lowest we ever allow an African country to be, so a country like Ghana (my brothers and sisters) let your roads surpass ours, let your buildings get completed without major litigation and cheating....even East Legon should surpass Borrowdale....we look up to you so much....but you are looking like a jobless 50year brother living in your parents house and who is difficult to respect. Ghana can really do it...your leaders need to be Wode Mayas biggest fan and watch what he is showing you...the man has no opinion...he is just giving us pictures and forcing us to decide what we want!

@Essential Oil Diffusers - You must appreciate what the hosts do for you when you are a visitor. The government of South Africa has been kind to Zimbabweans, granting them with 10 year Exemption Permits, but they are insulting and protesting, taking the government to court, something which they can't do back home. How you are treated by the community is something else, but you should appreciate what the government treats you. If America, China or France gives me a permit, I shouldn't expect them to like me. Just because you are mistreated by citizens doesn't mean you should blame the country. Be thankful that the government gave you a Permit or else leave and go somewhere. Americans get mistreated in China. The Chinese and Africans get mistreated in the USA. But I have never seen Americans and the Chinese making a huge fuss about it. That mall was built in 1990 was before all this the hotting up of the green energy movement. The development trajectory was messed up by the Economic Structural Readjustment Program which was a two part program of 5 years each fuelled by imposed loans from the world bank and that was the start of the downward spiral and politics got worse from there. That was the beginning, late 90s of the brain drain of human capital from Zimbabwe. The tide is not stopping. But having said that some of those who left 20-30 yrs ago are making a return to the country of their birth. I’ve been gone 30 years but can’t afford to resettle back home just yet. Im crying right now thank you son for telling the truth about Zimbambwe.its really sad to know that our relatives are brutally killed by fellow Africans while we have a beautiful home like this only because of some cruel and selfish individuals who keep stealing and make our lives miserable.Our prayers won't go unheard, God will one day set us free and shame these thieves.

As a Zimbabwean I started hearing and getting used to this word , 'foreigner' in South Africa. In Zim there are a lot of Zambians, Malawians, Mozambicans but we're never referred to as foreigners, in Zim we grew up loving our brothers and sisters from other countries. You would just love associating yourself with them.
@truesouth6532
@truesouth6532 Жыл бұрын
@@blessedblessed3474 that's weird because it was your former president Mugabe who told South Africans that they need to fight their battles themselves and not not Zimbabweas problem, it's a public speech he made, you can research it. Now Zimbabweans are out here making themselves look like saints because the tide has turned and their problems are everybody else's ,it's laughable really. You Zimbabweans are a funny bunch.

@@WODEMAYA Until the early 1990s, Zimbabwe was only second to South Africa in terms of infrastructure development in the entire Southern Africa. The Western media has fed great disinformation about Zimbabwe - its a gem to behold. As of today (July 2022) there are more white nationals of European descent who call Zimbabwe home than in most African countries. Again probably second or third to South Africa and Kenya.

My father is a White Englishman, but he grew up in Rhodesia and was in the Rhodesian army, but the family stayed a few years after the revolution. He has told me many times about the beauty of his adopted homeland and how he wishes he could show it to me, but the impression is that it is not safe for Whites. I can't say I would blame them if that was the case, honestly. Every native of sub-Saharan Africa is more than entitled to have bad feelings about us. Anyway, I think he lived somewhere near Bulawayo. For him, it will always be home, whether Rhodesia or Zimbabwe. He speaks some of the local languages too! I hope we get the chance to go there together in his lifetime.
