I take zinc for my acne. Whenever I have a breakout (adult onset acne), I take zinc for a couple days. This has brought me great relief. I am so glad you addressed the doctor's and nutrition subject! My personal doctors are very wise in nutrition. I am a breast cancer survivor. My cancer was estrogen positive. My oncologist has strongly advised- no soy!! Occasionally, I will see a "nutritionalist" on social media share a recipe and comment on the fact that I cannot have soy due to breast cancer. I can't tell you the many number of times they have replied that doctors don't study nutrition and don't know. I went to a breast cancer support group meeting that had a guest speaker who was a dietician and she encouraged soy. All of us were alarmed and most spoke up and said they were told by their oncologists not to eat soy. We had different oncologists. I find this extremely irresponsible and dangerous to tell a cancer patient to disregarded their oncologist recommendation. I do, do my own research, but I also have to be careful as to where the info is coming from and if their education is from a credible source. As a cancer patient, I chose to follow my highly educated doctors' recommendation. If they would be wrong about soy, then I just lose eating a type of food. If they are right, then I could be avoiding triggering a cancer recurrence. I have been blessed with wonderful, knowledgeable, caring doctors.

It's funny to hear this; I feel like I've gotten more derm (1-2 weeks) than nutrition (a couple days) so far in medical school (MS2), although sadly most of the derm has been dermatopathology and not common skin conditions.

It would be nice to have doctors especially pediatricians have more education on breastfeeding and lactation because like me as a breastfeeding mother I find a lot of doctors just push formula at the first struggle 🤦🏻♀️

Dr. Dray, I saw answered some questions about ingredient combinations and their potential to cancel each other out on IG. Can you do an actual video on that? Ingredient combos that go beyond being irritating, but actually shouldn’t be used together because they deactivate one another? I know BPO with HQ, Arbutin, and/or vitamin A are big no no’s.

we dont really know to what extent most ingredients cancel each other out

Literally tried LA Roche-Posay Anthelios sunscreen with 15% zinc during an acne and cyst breakout as an experiment because my neutrogena moisturizer ran out and my breakout stop immediately the next day, like WTF kind of black magic is this? For almost all my life Ive suffered with acne, cyst and keloids, btw.
@Minadarling1193 жыл бұрын
Side note also try eating oatmeal in the morning with your eggs instead of bread, not only is it loaded with fiber but it’s also has zinc, so you can get zinc fighting acne internally as well as externally 😉👍

Happy Saturday Dr.Dray!! 😃 Can you please share your thoughts about seborrheic dermatitis flares due to hormones? Also, if you have not already, can you please do a video on neem oil and it’s benefits for seborrheic dermatitis (if there is any)? Thank you for all you do!! 😃love your vlogs..

I completely disagree with Dr Dray’s review of the innofoods Almond Nuggets in Dark Chocolate. I ate a bunch of them BEFORE watching this video not knowing she’d review it. I have to hold myself back from buying a bag every time I go to Costco as I’m addicted to them. I much prefer them to the brand’s coconut cluster product. In this one, I don’t find the coconut overwhelming nor the chocolate grainy, and I love the crunch from all the nuts and the sweetness and flavor of the chocolate. I wonder if the sample she received was stale and not indicative of what you’d get in a new bag? Note that I buy my food, et al at the big Costco in Seattle, which is where their HQ is located, for what that’s worth.

Exactly because people who have been using a given medication for quite some while with no side effects suddenly become afraid because they've been made more aware of the potential side effects that are Way out there.

Simple, your body doesnt need zinc lol 🤣 y did you blame the vitamins itself when your body literally have it already. Gets?

Possibly, zinc was helping you detox. You should have tried it longer.

A lot of doctors don’t ever recommend nutrition as a form of treatment alongside with medication. I have never received any nutritional advice from them. Instead, medication and that’s it. Which is ok, but what about nutrition where it fits? And when I’ve asked for nutrition help due to my conditions... they were zero helpful. I know all docs may not be like that... but many, many are.
