They follow each other in a sort of ragged line from branch to branch searching for food and when they find something they like, like this bathing opportunity, the line bunches up. They are really tiny but build an incredible hanging nest. I don't know why, but they are among my favorite birds. I have watched their antics while floating in the warm water of the Florida Keys as they hunted for food in the Australian pines hanging over the water above me. I look forward to their arrival here in Oregon in spring, and later as they form their "parades" every fall before migration. Amazing tiny creatures!

I love when you can hear a flock of them before you see them, and then following the sound, there they are! But it mostly just looks like the branches are dripping with tiny birds, they move so quickly. Bushtits are one of my favorite species.
