I am an artist. I cross over what I learn from you into my art and crafts. I learn more from you than any other artist. This was an excellent video. Thank you so much for your hard work in making this!

Zoe this was exactly what I needed ...I had to risk editing this comment just to tell you , I'm a final year geology student and to hear plate tectonics in fashion gave me the biggest heart flutter. Who'd have thought the two would align.

If you ever have the chance to take a textile surface design class take it. You'll learn so many techniques and ways to create fabrics and garments. Question! Zoe because you spoke about them. I had a teacher say that sequins are the only ones that are groved and not the flat ones. That even Websters got the definition wrong. The flat ones no matter where the hole is are paillettes not sequins.

Thank you for this! I've been stuck on naming my company/brand because the what I wanted to use, that is important to me, already exists as a brand name. But now I realize I can just make it my reoccurring design element and find a different name. So much easier!

This was so helpful to show a friend I was helping shop! Question for you: are Paillettes always attached by hand as in couture/costume? That is the only way I’ve learned but just curious. Thanks for the great info! Looking for the adaptive apparel video! ❤

Not a designer, but I’m working on a costume for a character whose dress has embroidery and I’ve been stuck between two different kinds of lace to use to emulate it. One is sequined and feels truer to the character’s personality, but the other resembles the original design better. I’ll have to test it out and see, but if they look nice layered together, maybe I won’t have to choose between them!

Zoe Hong! Just recently discovered your channel and ive been learning so much from you! Are you gonna keep on making the fabric series? I it's really helpful and interesting to learn about it... i´ve just started making a mousseline beach shorts lol even though it's sheer, but because it's too light i think i probably made it a little bit too narrow, so i won't be getting the flowiness of the fabric :

Hi Zoe. Thanks for the video and advices. Is there any way you could make a video series of designing a garment, making the pattern and then constructing the video. I know you did a colab with a similar idea, but it felt different because of the contrasting personalities and teaching style.

Wow, what a great video! I had never seen some of the types of embellishments shown here. Do you know of resources where we could get some of these types of embellishments? I'm thinking the cut out leather, etc. Having just one or two embellishments are in my type of designing for myself. I don't seem to find high quality types of embellishments anywhere I shop. Even online, I don't see this type of quality. Thanks so much!
