I also liked the movie than the anime because the scenes felt more realistic (but not too real). It was a good introduction to the anime. And I haven't even read the manga and haven't started watching the anime before watching the movie. I wish the live adaptation is a series as well. Maybe that would remove most of the hate since they could give the characters a proper development and backstory. But this was still a fun ride!
