12:45 One thing to consider: When putting emergency buildings (like police, fire station or clinic) on a road with median like the avenue, the spawned cars can only go right (because they don't cross the median). This means they will take longer to reach their target (and e.g. put out the fire), as they first need to go around the block or find a place to turn around. Put those buildings either to a side-street (but near the intersection to the avenue), or upgrade that segment of the road to 6 lanes (or anything else without a median).

The game also now has the "Make Building Historical" button for every growable building. It will let the building retain it's current appearance even after upgrading, for aesthetic purposes. You can use them to keep certain types of more "traditional" buildings in the city/create an old town, without everything turning into the same-looking modern glass high-rise boxes.

Also very useful for retaining buildings of a desired height, so you can create more gradual height transitions throughout the city, rather than only immense sky scrapers adjacent to 3-story buildings.

You can also use 'Highrise Ban' policy to ban level 5 buildings in some districts to make it easier.

The recycling center can be put into industrial areas, the resources they are producing can pretty much feed most of the industrial zone's resources needs, thus reduce the import traffic. Their pollution footprints can also be covered by industrial zone's pollution.

Your voice is so calming, its been wonderful having this series play on the 2nd screen. I also love the ability to hear your thought process as you decide how you're doing things. I think, for me at least, that's one of the harder parts of being a more experienced C:S player but not quite knowing how you want to do things for the city layout. Hearing another thought process helps me also process things through in my own way.

Beautiful layout T4rget. You may consider changing the commercial zones in your residential housing area of the peninsula to the Organic and Local Produce specialization. It will reduce truck traffic on those narrow streets by 50% and will also help reduce noise pollution for the close by houses.

A nice thing about campuses is you can actually make money off them. A bad thing is they take up a ton of space. I wish they had a more urban campus option rather than only the sprawling ones you're given. But I guess you can use the old universities if that's what you're going for.

Remember you can turn off traffic lights in the vanilla game as well (without TM:PE). It is hidden in the traffic flow tool in a tab called junctions.

I recommend that you put the campus not so far away from the city. The people should also be able to walk and the upcoming public transport does not need to be extended so much.

Always great to wake up to a new video from you. For the University, it works like the parks, they have 5 levels and can be upgraded slowly. But you do need a massive area and population tho! Also, you can tie in a university sports team if you place the stadiums/sports facilities within the campus area.

You also can only have one type of university per campus zone so you can't have a trade school zone with liberal arts buildings...which is frustrating. But yeah, you're going to need tons of space for any type of university. The sports areas do NOT need to be in the campus zone so you can toss them around the city to satisfy entertainment needs.

You might be better off just plopping the university building for now and waiting to build a campus. I've found campuses work more efficiently with more young people/high dense housing in the city + public transport which you don't have yet. Really nice episode!

Heya Target, you can reshuffle your educated workers by dedicating some of your current industry to zoned specialized farm or tree land. Their highest education level is low, and they start at max level (1/1) so switching them back is no big issue. This will push out some higher educated workers from the zones you switch, and they'll try to find open jobs with a high education requirement. This way, any time you are short on highly educated workers, you can sift through your farmhouses and simply destroy any that have high education workers there, and they'll get a job in an office or commercial that has open spots (then those buildings instantly rebuild at max level and try to re-hire low education). Just a sort of population management tip. Also later in the game, and you run out of low education workers, there is Industry 4.0 Planning Policy that makes all industry work spaces higher education. This will make it easier to reshuffle some high education workers into zones that have to level up, and instead you can just remove and add max level 1/1 industry zones as needed.

Narayan De Jesus Reyes waterfront area is expensive. Most often u see housing and offices on the waterfront. Services like education are built in cheaper areas.

I get that you wanna use dirt load to reduce maintenance cost, but at this point you have basically more than enough mount of weekly income. So I think in terms of video quiality and efficiency(no longer need to fix your pathway) you need to use normal load to design your network.

Go to the green as soon as possible (before 1st or 2nd milestone) and then build slowly. The slower you go, the more money you have.

Hey T4rget, will you be using the industries DLC features soon? you know, docks, fishing, forestry, farms, etc, with railroad access and all that good stuff. Or it's something that makes more sense later on when the city is bigger? Regarding the Campus, I think a city of 10k population having an university campus is super unrealistic, but, its a game heheh

I think you have to add a 0 to the population to make it make sense. In the same spirit you have to add three zeros to the prices of everything to get closer to dollar values.

This is such a great video... I am new to the game (date back to SimCity 2000) and I am loving it. Spent already countless nights. Proper zoning is KEY, do it wrong and you will suffer with traffic as soon as density increases. Speaking of which... WHAT IS A HEALTHY TRAFFIC for you? I play to keep it above 75%.... is that optimal? crappy? what are you guys doing?

@@JavonWilliams29 Without a doubt. I think it is important to pick and choose mods/assets that you know you will like and not go too crazy. Even so, with all the DLC, the game is a bit of a system pig. So glad I went up to 32 gigs. Just sell your old ram after to recoup some $$

It can be a very beautiful city and if you want with the university campus dlc now you can create a profitable university that can attract students from out town and ruin their lives with extremely expensive student loans mwahahaha, muwhahaha! For transport, just one thing: when you build a metro line you can make it underground only in the downtown area and for a handful of stops while all the other parts now with harbor dlc you can make ground or overground.

Hey guys. I really love this game, been playing it for a 1 year already. And I am planning to upgrade my pc parts by the end of 2020, 25% of the reason is because i would love to have some performance bumps on my modded gameplay (since I am the workshop shopper type of player xD). So i am asking for suggestions and opinions from both Biffa and the viewers of which component should i upgrade first. Here's my main specs : - AMD Ryzen 5 1600 overclocked @3.75GHz (with MSI X370 SLI Plus motherboard and Corsair H115i AIO liquid cooling) - ASUS STRIX RX 580 8GB GAMING OC (Core Clock @1,430MHz and Memory Clock @2,000MHz) - 4x8GB GSkill Tridentz clocked at 2,933MHz CL18 (couldn't get the original rated CL16 3200MHz due to 1st Gen Ryzen memory issue and also bought them when the 'Ryzen Compatible' sticks weren't around in my country's market yet) Is it better to upgrade the CPU first, or the GPU first? What options do i have? - For the CPU, is it more worth to get the 2nd, or 3rd gen? Or is it even better to wait for the 4th gen since I am planning to do the upgrade at the end of 2020? I am fine with both R5 and R7 options since i also do some music recording, video editings, photoshops edits, also vector and digital illustrations. - For the GPU, I am fine with both NVIDIA and Radeon options. My budget is up to R7 3700X, and top end custom RX 5700XT price range.

High density commercial creates some jobs but also sells goods. An office zone primarily provides jobs.

If you use the Roads with grass or Trees, the cars cant be parked anywhere. especially at unique buildings thats a problem.

What if u make one way/two way sound barrier high way going circular in and out of that circular layout, with each entry and exit point to the circular layout connected by ramp. Entry point must be the same amount of exit point, and the distance of each entry&exit point is minimum 25-30unit. Way in&way out from the circular shape can be connected by highway roundabout/interchange. I think u can imagine that. I try this on my layout (that not has circular shape). With 10k population, i got 98% trafic flow. It is all without any public transport I place industrial,office&comercial close to the exit point. And residential close to entry point. School, medical, police, fire station, park, etc i place in the middle between exit and entry point so it can be noise barrier&polution barrier to the residential, and can reach max service area too

The parklife Dlc is useless you can't make money from the parks you spend more than you profit some times and there is alot of bugs paradox should improve this Dlc because is wasting of money to buy it
