Just came back from the grand opening for Zootropsticle. Figured I should post a review of it, given the hype it's getting online. Pros: - The staff were very friendly and easy to approach. - Chill Penguins were really awesome to watch. - The "Spot the Wolves" attraction was quite enjoyable. - Chill Penguins, yo. - Letting the animals out of their cage and turning the place into a giant petting zoo was a great surprise. - The search for the proper exit was difficult, but exhilarating all the same. I'm pretty proud of being one of the 17 people to find it. Cons - The lack of restrooms was really off-putting. Overall, 4/10, really could have been better.

the bears kept attacking me in particular, but none of the other animals touched me. I figured if they thought I was chill, hey would leave me alone, so I stuck with the penguins for a few hours before following some girl to the exit. all in all, a fun time, but it would have been cooler if the animals fought each other.

My Review Pros: - The food was great - Nice tropical scenery - The penguins were great - Random game of hide and seek with the animals was fun Cons: - Not enough bathrooms - The animals play hide and seek too rough - I have been trapped here for 4 days because I can't find the exit It would've been a 6/10 for me, but the penguins were so good that they hid me from the other animals during hide and seek, so now it's a 9/10 because the penguins added three points.

IDK if it's a glitch, but the penguins will eat any animal (moose, tiger, hippo) that you place in an exhibit with them. It's hilarious that those little guys are apex predators in this game.

This was pre-SJW era, so that's probably just a weird bug rather than a deliberate attempt to not end up creating what's publicly known as "that game where you can kill black women by unleashing tigers on them"

Actually it was a glitch but the developers left it in because they and many people found it funny. It became so famous that in Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals they revived the Killer Penguins as a secret animal that you can get by failing the Extinct Research Lab's mini game.

The coolest thing about Zoo Tycoon is all of the information they included about animals and their habitats. Plus it was cool learning what were the easiest and harder animals (gazelles and zebras you could put together for an easy first exhibit). Those "happy animal" sound effects were so addicting and the sad ones were just devastating. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, my animal friends!

7:58 Speaking from personal experience, Kangaroos, particularly roos that are used to interacting with people, are pretty chill. They're basically hopping deer, as long as you don't antagonize it they kinda just sit there and vibe and happy to let you do the same. Obviously don't go up to a wild one or anything unless you're trained to handle them, but most roos are perfectly content to let you pet them and interact with them if they acclimatized to humans and live in quality enclosures (large open space, plenty of room to graze, regularly socialized, have access to enrichment activities). If a roo got out of its enclosure, it's not that big a deal but you would still need trained handlers to contain it.

One of the improvements in Zoo Tycoon 2 was the addition of I think it was called 'Zookeeper Mode'? I don't know its been YEARS since I last played it, but I do remember you could walk around your zoo in first person to either look at the animals, take pictures for an album and even take care of them. If you wanted a better view of your animals, Zoo Tycoon 2 is the way to go. But I kinda remember the graphics being weird... Maybe it was just me...

His thing about seeing the animals was actually kinda addressed in the expansion packs for the game. I have complete collection, and in it you can make it so you don't see trees, giving you an unobstructed view. Complete collection is great.

Still one of my favorite games from back in the day. Also, if trees are a problem, one of the expansions gives you the option to turn foliage invisible, letting you actually see into the exhibits.

I had the Aquarium and Dino expansion. The aquariums require a whole heck of a lot of upkeep (because of pumps) and having animal shows (orcas, dolphins, seals, etc.) is a pain to manage, but a fun challenge. And if you thought the base animals were picky, try to the Dino expansion. Those jackoffs are so ridiculously particular, and sometimes their wants randomly change. And the giant carnivores CONSTANTLY break out of their exhibits, even with the strongest fences in the packs, without a maintenance man keeping a constant eye on the fence status. Running a massive zoo in those packs is challenging, but crazy fun!!!

Zoo tycoon 2 was amazing to me as a kid. The expansion packs and first person mode were the best part of it. I say we should beg developers to make an HD remake of it with the first person mode included. Experiencing it with modern graphics would be amazing. Or maybe even VR in the future.

My sister and I were OBSESSED with the zoo tycoon games when we were kids! We built the best exhibits, dropped our guests in said exhibits, punished the guests for leaving bad reviews by dumping them in the predator exhibits, and overpriced everything. Once we unlocked every animal within the game, we'd fence off the exit and let all the animals loose! It was fantastic, this brought back so many good memories.

This game was my JAM as a kid and I still play it as an adult. Favorite thing to do was build up an amazing zoo, create a backup save, block all exists and fire any animal caretakers and then use the cheat code that melted the cage bars. All the customers had to run screaming for their life as my lions and tigers threw them around. x3

I never owned this game as a kid but there was always this one kid in my school who had it and all it's expansions. But I had the original sims and all the expansions.. So that kid came over one day and we made a people zoo in the sims with his knowledge of Zoo Tycoon and my knowledge of homicidal 'Accidents' in the Sims.

They should make a tycoon game that starts at a macro level and incepts you into deeper levels of tycoonery: You start as a zoo tycoon, then for no reason you become the popsicle guy, then you become the guy who steals popsicles, then you become the guy who makes the overcoats that the popsicle thief wears... it could be a whole thing

I had Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2 WITH some of the expansions for both of them, and I LOVED it. This video makes me want to play those games all over again. With Zoo Tycoon 2, it actually got even better. You can walk around the zoo like a guest or employee. I really enjoyed the African Adventure and Extinct Animals expansion packs for Zoo Tycoon 2. They allowed you to go on a safari ride in your own zoo, dig up fossils, put the fossils together, and bring back the extinct animals once you assemble the fossilized skeletons. I highly recommend those expansions. For Zoo Tycoon, I had the Marine Animals and Dinosaur expansion packs. When my brother made his zoos, he purposefully designed his zoos to be death traps for his guests, so after his zoo was successful enough, he would trap his guests and let the dinosaurs loose.

Holy shit, Zoo Tycoon is my favorite childhood game. I have both Zoo Tycoon 1 complete collection and Zoo Tycoon 2 complete collection. If you're going to review the sequel I highly recommended it. It allows you to walk around in a first person view, allowing you to see the animals better, and even take pictures and care for them. And I recommend getting the complete collection as it adds dinosaurs and various prehistoric animals and fish and other aquatic animals like whales and dolphins, which were add-ons in the fist game, as well as African animals and endangered animals.Those games really made me want to actually work with animals, so there's another reason why I love those games so much

I propose a Zoo Tycoon 2 video: I played the demo for that over and over and over before finally getting the full version. I'd say it's a pretty perfect sequel. Improves on a lot of stuff that held the first one back, and I remember it being a lot of fun to name all your animals random things. I never played off of sandbox mode, but I think I remember having specific zoo missions/achievements in that one.

I was very giddy to see you do a video on this game finally! This game, well the complete zoo edition, was a HUGE part of my childhood outside of Neopets. I loved every single bit of this game and wish that it's sequel was as good. Though I enjoyed blocking off the entrance with a park of Dinosaurs and letting them loose upon the guests lol.
