Zoom G1 FOUR: Guitar Lab Software, and USB

I realize this video was posted two years ago and I'm sure you know what I'm about to point out by now but I'll mention it anyway for others who may be wondering. In GuitarZoom, what you saw wasn't six patches. It was five patches but one of them had too many adjustments to fit on one panel so a sixth page is shown but there are only five patches. Besides, the Zoom G1Four, G1XFour and the acoustic processor equivalents (I own both) only have provision for five effects so if GuitarZoom had six, one couldn't be used on the G1X anyway.

It's not an audio interface because it's an multi-FX pedal. The USB is only for patch manipulation, and also for powering with an external battery pack.

Some buzzing noises are coming out from amp. And, when I change some patch settings on computer software, the noise is either increasing or decreasing. How to get rid of this noise completely?

First, activate the ZNR effect in the pedal. It's a really good noise reducer. Second, try changing the direction you're holding your instrument. You might find that at certain angles and directions the noise increases or decreases depending on what other electrical forces are around.

G3Xn new-ish user (have had G7, G5 - have G3Xn) - I would say that the GuitarLab is severely broken - i also had to switch usb cables, restart pc, device etc - then it find the unit, update - then it drops connection. I have quite a lot of experience and it is not the usb ports on my pc or anything like that. I get (after fiddeling) connection with the unit, start to try out a few patches in this new, *improved* , lab software - then it jumps back to the pre-chosen patch because it looses connection with the unit (over, and over - and there is delay between the connection of the unit and the program) So, i would NOT use the G3Xn in any important situation with the pc as overhead. Actually you cant use it at all. I just was going to connect and look up this "particle reverb" - but started trying patches - and started solving more problems than actuallually playing... see the point, Zoom? Would it be a program, a game or similar, i would be all over the developer - and boy - when they had the "Edit&Share" software, and switched to GuitarLab´s first version with the G5(n) *update* , was it a letdown? Now in the newest version (V.3!) - it looked better... but Zoom, what are you doing? Have to pass it forward to G-users - there is another 3:rd party program for the Zooms, called "Tone-Lib Zoom" check it out, it might just work.

@@aiden_macleod i stated that it aint my 1:st electrical gadget. Did i not? I updated the software in time, got it to work, sort of... it is a shitty version compared to the predecessor. Have not been using it much since, because Tone Lib got the job done. It may work like a charm now, not then.

As you scrolled through effects, we saw quite a few that are NOT installed on the pedal. I couldn't read the number in the lower-right hand corner to see how full the unit is, but I'm guessing it's full. Perhaps you can remove some effects from the pedal to make room, then add some effects from the list you scrolled through. See Guitar Lab manual, p. 7. Patches NOT on the device seem to be marked with a circling arrow.

Yep, you're right. I've been in the software since then and was able to exchange effects freely. I think I was too focused on looking specifically for the "Particle reverb" effect, which I still didn't find. So at this stage that effect is sadly still not available on the G1 FOUR, but there are some other good ones to choose from :) Gearfacts

Personally, I've removed some effects I'll never use from the pedal to make room for those I DO use. The Explosion effect for instance. Never find a use for it, so I removed it.

I think I just used the one that came with it. Apparently there are some cables that charge but don't carry data, you've got to avoid those ones.

Any changes you make are auto-saved. In the menu there's a COPY option if you want to move a patch to another location.

This happens all the time for lots of different people. I'm afraid I don't have a solid answer. I waited about 10 minutes and it finally connected, but that's just my computer/pedal. Your situation could be different.

A common problem. For me, sometimes it just takes a very long time. Some people never got it to work with their computer at all.

First- download the latest version that is 4.1 Second- after downloading turn off you all antivirus and firewalls before extracting the file . Third- If it still crashes then run the troubleshooting program then select.apply and save recommended settings This worked for me

I'm not sure but I thought you can find and select the fx you want in the Free Guitar Lab Software and then add them to your G1 four. I only have the G1Xon at the moment so I can't use this software with my pedal to check this. Hope this will work because there are a lot of fx missing in the new pedal compared to the G1Xon. For people who want to buy this pedal, have the one with the expression pedal (G1 X four) You can use it to adjust the fx level, fx rate, delay time etc. (1 funtion at the time per patch)
