Great review! Thank you! Nice to hear from somone who remembers reel to reel. Made my first recordings on one in the 70s! 😉🤟

Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, reel-to-reel machines were wonderful. I recently looked at buying an old REVOX PR99 as a bit of a nostalgia trip and was shocked they sell second hand for several hundred pounds. I assumed people would be binning them, but that's not the case. I even discovered my professional SONY cassette recorder for news reporters also sells for hundreds. People are obviously loving analog tape hiss and the other imperfections that only tape provides. :-)

zoom h5 or zoom h4 essential?

Both the H4n/H4n Pro and the H5 can supply phantom power, so you can use either with a condenser microphone or if you want t use an inline mic pre with any microphone.

Hi there, I am clueless about technology. I live in London. I wonder if you would do a paid visit of some sort to help me start my music channel. I know it is a lot to ask and I'm expecting a no for an answer but I have had gear for years now and I don't know how to use it!

Unfortunately, that is not a service I offer at the moment.
