I’ve been using it over a year. Works well. Little tip, make sure black syphon is the window in front, otherwise you get little breaks in connection.

Yes! I use ZoomISO to create up to four clean feeds at 1080p from M1 Mac mini that feed into my ATEM Extreme via HDMI and two pluggable thunderbolt to dual HDMI adapters. This lets me create super source layouts when I'm producing virtual events for a client. Combined with ZoomOSC and Companion on my stream deck, I can switch who is in the iso feeds at the push of a button. Good stuff. Liminal Entertainment Systems was recently purchased by Zoom, which is exciting.

Would love to see the thunderbolt to dual hdmi adapters you use. I was under the impression the M1 Mac mini could only do two hdmi outputs.

Thanks for the nice introduction of ZoomISO. I am testing it now, but seems that the NDI feeds contain only video. There is no audio in it. Is it true? Or i missed something?

I really like your tutorial with the step by step. would you do another one in case we want to use NDI? Coz it will take lots of pc if you want to have 4 to 6 virtual guests

Unfortunately the atem mini extreme is not a NDI switcher. So if you are using NDI with Zoom you would need to use something else. With that said, it doesn’t take a lot of PCs for 4-6 virtual guests. With the right graphics card a PC should be able to support 4 or even 5 HDMI outputs.

you can take zoom to full view and achieve the same results with one guest - doing the same method in this video? thanks great stuff

When you use the zoom app on full screen mode you still are stuck with icons in the top left corner that you can’t get rid of. This strategy provides a full clean feed.

On zoom it is call „dual screen mode”. And you saved 250 dollars ;)

Not exactly. You cannot pin someone to a second display unless there are more than 3 callers in the meeting and on top of that you’ll still be stuck seeing the “remove pin” and the close full screen option. It’s not as “clean” as you’d think if you’re looking to put on a professional stream.

@@zephanmoses you can zoom a little bit an input on ATEM. And dont know why, but I can pin any caller during 1on1 call. I use a Windows. Maybe on Mac something works diffrently

Loved this. Have ATEM Ex ISO and have a co-host and 1-2 guests for a new show. Wanted to use zoom for guests and do this native in ATEM. Could stream or just record the show for posting later. Can you take this solution and incorporate one more guests and/or use Supersource for the layouts and switching?

You can but ideally you'd need to have a computer for every guest so you can full screen them or you'd have to use something like Zoom ISO and have a computer with a decklink card so you can get 4 SDI outputs, convert them back to HDMI and bring them into the ATEM. It's not exactly something you can do natively with the ATEM as you'll need a lot more hardware.

@@zephanmoses this is kind of what I thought. I think I might have to keep it simple with software like eCamm recording the connected devices and have them call in through their software. Not ideal but cheaper for the time being.

The idea is great. From 1 laptop, you can create multiple 'pins' for each virtual speaker and using a device to split the images as individual HDMI source to a AV switcher. But at that pricing of $249, it is quite a turn off.

$249 is a very small price to pay and a business expense. In the grand scheme of things we invest tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars into our equipment. While I understand not everyone has that type of budget, this is a great solution for a professional user and sure beats using a $30,000 Tricaster or even dropping $1200 on Vmix software.
