This isn't really a spoiler, but her father is Eggman. Her name is Sage, and she is an AI created by him. She eventually learns true emotions, and Eggman grows to love her as his daughter too. You can probably guess what the song is about.

The premise of this song continues with The Final Horizon's remix of "I'm With You", the original version being the true final boss theme of the base game.

Yes, I recommended this a while back too ! Now that she's listened to most of the character themes from the Adventure/Heroes era, listening to these is a must ! Maybe If... and Second Wind are my favorite.

If the beat makes you think of lo-fi, BOY let me tell you ! The lead composer/music director of Sonic Frontiers, Tomoya Ohtani, is a lo-fi producer, and has his own youtube channel dedicated to that ! Also, there is an actual lo-fi track in Frontiers, it's called Fishing Vibes ! You can find it on the ost or on the official Sonic youtube channel. Continuing from this, I think you should listen to I'm With You, the original final boss theme of Frontiers, and then to the vocal version from the end credits of the Final Horizon update ( it's just called I'm With You - Vocal ver. ). The song is a counterpart to Dear Father.

If you enjoyed this then maybe "Dear My Friend" from Sonic Unleashed is worth a listen (and yes there is a yesmen10 animated video lol). The series has had a good chunk of melancholic tracks in it's time. Sonic Adventure 2 has a lovely song called "The Last Scene" that most fans would recognize as one of the best from the Adventure titles.

SPOILER* This song is even sadder because of the context. In the original ending of frontiers(dlc gave us and alt ending to the game) an ai created by eggman called "sage" sacrifices herself to help sonic defeat the final boss. eggman through out the story(you learn via his memos) gets attatched to this sentient ai he created, having her feel like a daughter and sage has eggman feel like a father. so this song is her lament to eggman after sacrificing herself.
