--The previously showcase Proto Chrome Sockets we brought in with spring steel rails absolutely suck...like big time. I can't stand them. They are not like they use to be...still made in America, but they are terrible.

-With the delay in getting Wright Impact Sockets, I was heavily leaning toward just going with Mac. The main reason? They should perform like I'm accustomed to with Proto, but would simply be easier to distinguish from all the other impact sockets at work.

Proto tools are an incredible value on Zoro. It’s crazy how easy it STILL is to get quality made affordable USA tools.

Agreed. I get that Snap-On is insanely high and thereby an outlier, but I have bought an awful lot of my Proto, Wright, Channellock, Mayhew, etc. for very near, or even LESS than what I'd pay for a "cheap" import. I've got no qualms with any of those brands because they are proven performers. The value is off the charts.

7:33.. if I purchase something with those spring steel rails I just give them to my brother...he doesn't care what it is he'll use it...I personally use the pegs in my box...or I put them on aluminum rails if I need to move em..but I rarely do... 14:15.. I've been using HexArmor for ~4-5 years.. awesome. . So good and do not fog...I've got some of the transitioning lens too..great for summer

These 1/2" rails were terrible. Weird thing is, the 3/8" clips, stamped just the same and presumable from the same source as the 1/2" clips, work fine. I remember as a kid I thought it was a big upgrade getting the spring steel rails...physically bought them from Sears, lol. My at home HexArmor has been stellar. My main pair at work is on all the time and I sort of fog them up, but it has always been from just being insanely hot. We were in straight 90s a few weeks back and there was a bit more humidity than usual...that coupled with being in a part of the shop with no breeze sort of glazed them. Wipe them down and get in front of a fan and they are fine. Sadly, a spend a lot of time in a middle run of the shop that only has air circulation if I have a west door and a north door up. Years back we had Uvex Patriots...cool thing there was if you wanted to, you could swap lenses to torch etc. They were the best ones we had, but our suppliers seem to rotate vendors or something. The stuff they brought in after was terrible. Then we had Nemesis for awhile. Now they have total junk again. I've told them to stock these and they seem more interested in having cheap junk, so I just procure them elsewhere.

What about using a paint marker in the embossed areas, wiping off the excess, to identify yours? You couls use any color.

That is how I've currently got all my impacts...it has worked with varying degrees of success. The current work ones aren't really a concern since most of them look more like worn chrome. My big fear is if I ever update work sets. I'll figure something out...most likely problem scenario is my being in the middle of something and getting called away for an unknown time.
