2023 Kia K5 budget audio upgrade, with awesome results!

In today's video I swap out the factory speakers for Infinity Reference 6532IX speakers that I ordered from Crutchfield. It was an easy upgrade and they sound way better than stock. Enjoy!

I ordered my speakers last night :-) but I have been following many of your mods and have already done some of them or have them on my todo list. You forgot to remove one more green clip from the upper right corner of the front door. It’s gonna make vibration of door panel and make noise. It’s better if you remove it from the door and put it back to the panel. Like you did with other one. You can see it on 09:59.

I was looking forward to this video. I have looked at some audio options because the stock system is rather unimpressive. Also, nice follow-me shots with the Mini 3 Pro. That's one feature that my Mini 2 lacks. Infinity speakers are solid! My 2012 Optima SX had the Infinity package with a sub woofer. I really miss the Optima's sound system. I love how Crutchfield includes all the mounting brackets and wiring harnesses. My biggest worry about doing this is getting everything back on without any rattles. I used to install a lot of car stereo systems in the 90's. It seems once these clips are removed that they tend to never want to reattach without some rattles. Hopefully that's changed on these newer cars. This looks super easy. I think I may actually do this. Thanks for making this video! You don't need an amp. The old stereos used to have really high THD but I suspect this will be fine as long as you don't crank the volume up to max then it'll distort bad. Can you make another video letting us hear the sound? It may not be easy to tell though over KZbin even if you had done a before & after. Great job Zach!

I was concerned about that as well, but everything went back together nice and tight. I might make an unlisted video that shows the speakers, I just don't think it will do it justice. Yeah I can. Spare tire is removed in this video though. 20-30 pounds won’t make much difference in the times anyway

Great video, i actually got these same speakers from crutchfield, makes a big difference, i only did the two front, do you recommend i change the rear as well? During my research i found that people say it does not make a difference on the rear speakers.. thanks in advance

@@zstampe if i sit in the back and turn it up, I actually hear nothing from the rear , im thinking my stocks are blown honestly lol, if u sit back there u definitely hear the speakers right? I just ordered a set of four of these exact speakers for my ‘23 GT-Line and I see where some people add an additional foam ring around the front of the speaker to (I’m guessing) either reduce vibrations or funnel all the sound completely thru the door grills without letting any sound “leak” inside the door enclosure. Not having pulled the door panels yet I don’t know if foam rings would be a waste of time or not. Are the speaker openings inside the door panels round (and enclose the speaker front) or would adding foam rings enhance their performance? Thx -

I’m not sure there’s anything to gain from that, but I also doubt that it would hurt.

I’ll tell you first hand it’s very necessary. If you don’t songs with high bass and at high volumes your doors will rattle and it’ll distort and sound awful . I put them in both my Elantra value editing and my k5 GTline afyer I changed their speakers
