Zuko would be mortified and embarrassed at first and apologize for lying to her, but she would say she understood and that he could make it up to her by taking her on a proper date this time. Zuko asks why she would still want to do that after how the last one ended, and she says she felt something with him she has never felt with anyone else. Zuko would admit he felt the same, and after they kiss again, he agrees to go on another date with her.

“It’s complicated.” As much of a cop out answer that usually is, in this instance, it’s true. And explaining things would be very difficult for Zuko 😭 to my knowledge, we didn’t know about him and Mei yet, so when we find out, and rewatch this scene, it brings so much context to his reaction. He likes Jin, but still has feelings for Mei, and therefore feels like it’s wrong to develop feelings for Jin. It’s… quite sad 😭 but I get it. He and Mei were technically still together, as they never called it off. If I were Zuko, I would’ve followed my heart, but he’s still in his transition phase right now, and life as a whole is complicated for him. Had more time passed and he remained in Ba Sing Se for longer, he might have had a change of heart and actually gotten with Jin. Of course, he’d also eventually have to tell her the truth about who he is, and that would be very difficult, given she’s from the Earth Kingdom and all…

That whole dancing scene in the headband episode just exudes chemistry, and you can see how enthralled Katara was by Aang. Those are all real moments. People pair Zuko and Katara for two reasons: 1. He’s more conventionally attractive than Aang 2. The Fire and Water symbolism. While ignoring that they never actually showed interest in each other. When it comes to substance, there is nothing there, nothing like with Aang/Katara. I’m sorry but it’s a fantasy.

Since it isn't clear who is Izumi's mother is (zuko's daughter, if you don't know or remember who she is). There's a chance it isn't Mai, since she broke up with zuko at one point and we never saw them together again, if i recall (unless i'm wrong). i think this jin girl is the mother of izumi. izumi mean fountain, thats the special place of zuko and jin. izumi has darker skin and wavy hair, just like jin. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. zuko and mai have bright skin and straight hair.
