this EXACT same situation just happened with my Milan.. Thank you so much for posting this. I had no idea of that door handle trick, I was always one arm out of the window. smh. lol. I wish you would have posted the link to that part you ordered.

You have to remove any screws holding on the trim pieces, then it will pull off. Door panels are fastened by clips that pull out.

Been having this problem and I've just been doing the little trick, but now when I try to unlock it it unlocks then locks again automatically over and over again about four times and it's like a 50/50 chance whether it lands on unlock or not. What could that be?

Sounds like a short or faulty connection in the wiring or in the lock actuator.

You don’t “have” to, it’s just good practice when replacing electronic components.
