Thanks! Looking at this bike here in the States and really appreciate these perspectives. I must admit that I'm surprised by the exhaust interference with the swing arm and the brake pedal? Also, was that 2 point bash plate stock? Cheers from the mountains and canyons of Utah!

Got same problem. Currently selling crf 300L cuz it is not enough cc to load it with stuff and ride out on the pavement. I knew T7 is too heavy also so what I am thinking about is Aprilia Tuareg 660 but turns out 2023 has some flaws, waiting to see is it fixed on 2024 model. And another bike that I am thinkig of is KOVE 450..but also have to wait and see how reliable it is

Just finished a 700km ride on my 2014 BMW 800 adventure on stock seat, made the last half of ride miserable so I’ve been researching Seat Concepts. Overall very positive but I would suggest calling them to discuss options. Ie get the foam and cover kit from them, or you can ship them your stock seat pan and they will do it. I think there are different foam and cover options too. Realize this can get costly but when you consider what the bike costs it’s well worth it to have a comfortable ride. Safe riding!

Hei! 🙂 It's funny I decided to subscribe to your channel on the least offroad oriented video you may have published. I should say I recognize myself more in that photogram where you find the barrier that prevents you to continue on a trail.....but I hope this video of yours reconcile me with the beautiful roads we have in Norway and I will try to be a bit less angry to the local restrictions to offroad motorcycling. Congrats to your 'kult' channel from a Stavanger utlending. Ciao. P.S. Would you ever consider to mention where in Norway are the best trails we are allowed to ride without fear of breaking the laws or being chased by angry farmers?

If you had a lot of money and could afford any bike. Sure you'd look at other options. But value for money the CF450 Mt can't be beaten. Unkess you prefer a thumper like the Enfield.

Test rode this bike in Portugal last week and it surprised me, like a baby T7. In Norway it isn't cheap unfortunately and besides the flexible engine and great weight carrying characteristics the price is what this bike's got going for it. In Norway you'll get a used T7 for the price of the cfmoto 450..

Recently rode it in Portugal and I really liked it. If I took my KZbin career seriously I would make a follow up video where I ate my own words! But here in Norway it's a lot more expensive than in other countries, and probably the best part about this bike was its price..

HI, I recently purchased a t7 euro4, I have enjoyed your videos about the t7, they have been very useful, thank you for sharing. I bought an HP Corse like yours, which I installed yesterday, I removed one of the bolts from the shock absorber links to see if the swingarm wasn't hitting the exhaust pipe? the rear wheel is +/- 10 cm away from touching the fender, and the brake support touches the middle exhaust pipe, haven't you had any problems with your exhaust? I don't want to ride the bike without making sure I don't damage anything. Thanks

Think the interesting thing is what new owners are saying - that despite its 190+ kg weight it’s the way it carries this weight that is surprisingly good. Some have said the difference is very noticeable between the MT and all the bigger capacity middleweight ADVs. To hear Tuareg owners saying this really surprised me, as on paper there is only around 15 - 20kg difference or is it? Think the reality is even the just 200kg + middleweights ADVs are considerably heavier than the manufacturers tell you they are. 20 - 30kgs + plus is a very noticeable figure between any bike no mater what it’s purpose.

Here in the US market, which is likely the biggest ADV bike market in the world, I believe it comes down to simply name brand recognition and nothing more. Buyers in the US are not familiar with the Aprilia brand. Those that are familiar with Aprilia (sport bike owners) are not interested in ADV bikes. I own a 2023 Tuareg with over 5k miles. I previously owned a BMW GS and find the Tuareg superior in every way. It checks all the blocks I wanted in an ADV bike, light, nimble, low center of gravity, extremely capable off road, tubless tires, excellent suspension, all the modern electronics incl. cruise control, and it handles like a dream on pavement even with my knobby Motoz tires. Aprilia made the ADV bike that no other manufacturer could make because they have no other ADV bikes within their own line up to rob sales from (think new Transalp & Africa Twin). They are not going to compete with themselves and loose sales on their flagship models. I have had no problems at all with the Tuareg. Most (if not all) of the issues I have seen on KZbin with the Tuareg are due to the rider and how the bike was used and not a problem with the Tuareg itself. Issues like kick stand spring retainer bolts breaking off on large rocks are easily and cheaply corrected. Upgrading the air filter for dusty roads....no problem. You will find small issues like this with any motorcycle, especially new models.

Super useful video. I live in the Algarve, Portugal. I've got a 2023 Tenere WORLD RAID and I love it. Lower center of gravity, better suspension than the T7, and more. I'll be taking her through a 3000 km trip through Spain, France, and Italy in November. I'm expecting it to be an amazing adventure. I took her on a 1500 km through the hills and mountains of northern Portugal and it was incredible. Super comfy and responsive. But I'm also considering adding the 701 to my collection for the more technical riding here in Portugal and also in nearby Spain. I wouldn't think of taking the 701 on such a big trip to Italy but I think it'll be amazing to flick around the hundreds of trails in the Algarve.

Aprilia has earned itself a lot of negative rep for being unreliable coupled with poor dealership service to service their warranty work as you said in the video. A lot of people have been burned by their Tuonos and the like so they're gun shy on the Tuareg. The other thing to note is that KTMs are rarely trusted when reliability truly matters. You don't ride a KTM 50+ miles out in the middle of nowhere where you breaking down turns into a survival situation. They're taken on relatively short ranged, spirited treks but most don't trust a KTM to go the distance where support and coverage is spotty or the consequences of a break down could mean you dying out in the middle of nowhere. The Big 4 are known for the reliability first and most serious riders taking their bike out there don't want to get stranded 50+ miles out in the desert and now on a sudden multi-day survival trek back to civilization. Once you really go off the roads on a bike with some range on it, reliability becomes more important with range. It's one of the major reasons dual sports or dirt bikes have such relatively small gas tanks on them. We could make the gas tanks huge, but then the worry is that riders would be tempted to take them for many hours outside of safely recoverable range and before the user knows it, they've exceeded their 120hr service interval and the engine fails and they're now a week's hike through wilderness to get back to civilization. That's what's actually killed many racers in the Dakar in the past. They break down and can't make contact with help in time and the desert claims another. They now have a relatively set route with chase vehicles specifically to prevent that type of loss of life. IRL, you don't have a chase vehicle following you around to pick you up if your bike takes a shit on you.

Hei Johannes, hvor i Norge bor du? Jeg vil kjøpe PR7, så kanskje det er mulig å møte med deg?
@R0ger007Ай бұрын
Had 2 PR7, different years. Tablet went mental in the rain, died after a wash. Engine wouldn't start in the winter before battery flat. Forward facing air intake sucks water into proprietary air filter. Fuel cap sticks and drops mud into tank. Sticky fuel level sensor. Unadjustable headlights point into sky. Exhaust flattens on first bump. Rear brake lever sits on exhaust. Can't adjust spring preload without removing tank. Rectifier under water during river crossings. Rotten wiring, broken wires in loom. Endless design flaws. Should be a brilliant bike on paper, sold both.

That engine isn't from China. It's made in Italy in the old Husqvarna factory that got abandoned when KTM bought the Husqvarna name and decided to just stick white plastic on KTMs and call them Husqvarnas. It's basically the old 2010 TE 630 motor, which is no bad thing.
